Ordered the kitchen sink omelette. It wasn't the best until I removed the old mushrooms & added salt. I normally love mushrooms so I knew something was odd. The cheese wasn't spread evenly throughout. It was a big chunk in one place. The hasbrowns were good & churro waffles were very good. Like really really good. Perfect mix of crunch, softness & sweetness. Our waiter was really pleasant & attentive.
Good evolution. After four years, today I decided to have dinner at Buttercup. Sentimentality this place means a lot to me. In the past, I always expect great vegetarian food. Today I didn't had any expectations, I was hungry. Three years, one pandemic, ignorance and fear affected and forced to close some of my favorites spots. Doesn't happen to Buttercup. Food quality still great. I order the vegetarian sandwich and the Mac and cheese with raw jalapenos. So good....

Food is good depending on the cook. One time I had hair in my food but they compt my meal, but even so it was a fact that I had hair in my food & that's not okay!!! Waitresses are very polite and nice I would go again... I do go again, this is one of my favorite restaurants but that doesn't mean I won't have complaints but overall yes I will rate 4 out of 5....
I should have took pictures of my food I ordered the grits French toast scrambled eggs and bacon it was delicious. My cousin ordered the grill pork chops, which came with home fried potatoes oh, not the little shredded potatoes, toast and scrambled eggs. On the side pancakes. The 2 grill pork chops or large portions.... they have both why array of things on the menu next time I'm at Route a steak and they have a dinner lunch
I love the vibe here, they really hit that diner feel. I've been many times and I really enjoy the food. The reason I give this 4 out of 5 stars is because this last time I went, my friend and I both got omelettes and the eggs were like gray-colored, not the color that you would expect them to be. It tasted fine but the color was pretty off-putting and neither of us finished our eggs.
Eaten here before, dine-in, and LOVED it..this was my first time ordering to-go and was HIGHLY disappointed in food quality! I ordered on 12/3/21 by phone. Ordered two orders of chicken and waffles for me and my coworker. We also added on biscuits and gravy for me and a cinnascuit for my coworker. I called at 1040 and left work and was there by 11:11. I visually checked order, paid and left. Got back to work and literally everything was cold. Not even our chicken was warm. My biscuits were SO hard I couldn't even cut them with a knife and fork! That I even needed a knife was my 1st sign... and of course they serve you their to-go orders in foil packaging so we can't reheat in the microwave! The bill was $58...literally tossed in the trash and we had to go to BK since it was the only thing fast and close to us! Super Disappointed
I totally disgusted with this place. I ordered a burger. After eating half I discovered that the bread had mold on it! I took a picture of it and called the manager over who instantly starting making excuses. Saying the bread was brought in (fresh...lol) today. Its not mold. Even though he could clearly see it. He took the plate from me and walked away. He NEVER apologized or offered me anything. He WALKED AWAY and didn't say another word to me again. NOTHING. He acted like I was lying and nothing happened. I was tempted to call his corporate office to report him and the experience. But I did him one better.. I wrote this for all of you to see. I will NEVER (and you shouldn't either!) eat there again. He should be fired! Go there at your own risk... You have been informed.
I have been loving the Buttercup experience since living in Oakland. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience at either Buttercup location. Buttercup is like a down home family experience. I have never encountered a server with a negative attitude or anything. They are definitely a four, five star experience for service, quality of food and affordable. They give you plenty of food and great taste. Don't forget the dessert! Nothing but praise for Buttercup. Sorry for no pics. I was hungry and the last thing on my mind was a picture to post. Highly recommend Buttercup to all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone. Blessed be?
