I absolutely loved this place and their food. I ordered the shrimp and spicy grits, and they tasted just like the ones that I ordered when I was in New Orleans. My family also ordered some Po'boys that had sausage, and another ordered the vegan items. They were all so delicious. I highly recommend this place if you're in the Oakland area. It was super good. ?
Great brunch, good food. Didn't like the Beignet( Crawfish), to little inside & dough seemed dense. Overall a fantastic place for brunch. Have no food pics, was so hungry, forgot!
This place is definitely a staple for me. Best southern brunch in the area. You definitely want to make a reservation, if you are eating with more than one other person. I love the shrimp n grits, pork belly n grits, bananas Foster French toast (to die for!), collard greens, iced chicory coffee, and fried chicken are my favorites to order. Can't wait to come back!
All I can say is Brenda's in Oakland serves yummy and simple dishes! Great service too. I advise you make reservations.
Sunny spot with an excellent selection of vegetarian options! They have three vegetarian po boys, multiple vegetarian egg dishes (including a delicious succotash omelette) and mostly veggie sides (the grits in particular were phenomenal). To top it all off, the beignets are a revelation - the chocolate and apple were our favorites!

First time for a Sunday brunch. We did take out and was pretty efficient. We had a couple egg sandwiches, salad, and beignets. All good but didn’t knock me out of my boots. Portion was decent. I’d go back again and try something else. Looks like nice outdoor seating.
I love the food here! Crawfish beignets are delicious! The fried catfish was so yummy that I had to bring some home! The shrimp and grits are the Best!!❤️
Got there early on Sunday was seated promptly. everything was great! the only thing is…thry kept forgetting our order of beignets! so we got them late. not before our meal… Took them home. Filling!
The shrimp and grits are very tasty! The cornbread and gravy are both fantastic. Thick but not too thick, lots of flavor. The fried chicken is very crispy. I would avoid the tofu sloppy Joe next time. Also the spinach is a little too salty. Overall good experience and I like that they have small sized sides so we can try many different things.shrimp
