Very good ambience and tasty Korean Fried Chicken
I've been to this spot several times now, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat out in Oakland. Everything I've ordered so far has been really good.
I have tried Garlic before and Yangnyum chicken this time. I can say it for sure that their chickens are a bit salty. The sauce itself was good but there was not enough sauce to be mixed with the chicken. I wouldn't recommend chickens. The chicken serves 2-3 people. And it was easy to eat with bonless chicken.
The Korean soy BBQ sauce glaze stuff is ridiculously delicious. I want to eat it on everything!!!
Bowl’d is an absolute MUST. You now have no choice but to come here. I came here twice and had two equally amazing experiences.Bowl’d Visit #1I called ahead and ordered 3 Sizzling bibimbap bowls with spicy pork for pick up. In addition to the main food, Bowl’d gives you little side dishes and plenty of sauce. It was absolutely amazing and was enough for me to have dinner at 6:00PM and then extremely satisfying drunchies at 2:00AM. It was so good I HAD to come back a second time.Bowl’d Visit #2We went to Bowl’d for a second time and ate inside the restaurant. Visit #1 and the sizzling spicy pork bowl was so frekin good the first time that I ordered it again. They served it in the traditional hot stone pot and gave us so many side dishes and even refilled them for us. However, this time we sat at the super cute back area lit with string lights! It was adorable. During visit #2, I also ordered the Bowl’d half- half Korean fried chicken. (3 wings with spicy sauce and 3 with soy glaze) and let me tell you these wings were everything you need in your life. They were:HOT HOT HOTCRUNCHITY MUNCHITYDRIPPING WITH SAUCE*Make sure you ordered the chicken from Bowl’d and NOT the chicken from vons.Bowl’d is 15/10, the service is great, and they have some BOLD flavors. Go Out and Go Bowl’d!
Ordered soy garlic kfc takeout today and ate it right outside the restaurant (should be moist and hot, but it was lukewarm and very dry). Probably the worst Korean fried chicken ive had in a while. The chicken was extremely dry (definitely fried it earlier in the day and microwaved/refried it when we ordered). The chicken was like eating leather (worst than microwaving 3 day old Costco chicken ). And the chicken was sitting in a pool of honey - never seen that before. I will definitely not be eating here again.
Good food, but bad service. I had a much better experience at the Berkeley location and will be visiting there in the future.I asked 3 separate times for water refills, and never got it. We came on a Friday at 5:30, and nobody else was here, but the service was very slow. There’s no toilet paper in the bathroom, and it’s almost impossible to get the server’s attention, even when the place is empty.
We had fantastic jhap chae noodles and Korean fried chicken! Service was quick and food amazing with layers of flavor. Loved everything!
