We made a reservation a week in advance. We were seated and sat at the table for 20 minutes without water or a waitress. The cocktail my husband ordered was terrible, he told our server and she left it on the table, he didn’t touch it - but we were charged for it.The portions are small for 1 person and yet they call it “family style” and encouraged to “share”. We received 1 single cracker to go with a very small “family style” dip - for 5 people. I wanted to order a “to go” dish for my 83 year old mom who is bedridden. We were told the chef only allows the hamburger to go. Our bill was 400$. 3 of us ordered a burger and fries. 1 dish vegetarian- did I mention that they also ran out of entrees on the menu? I called to speak to the manager afterwards, was told to call back during business hours . Wait - I called while they were open - isn’t THAT business hours? We will never go again. Terrible experience.

Bardo is a special restaurant that serves up unique meals from a surprisingly tiny kitchen. We love the seasonal menus which highlight fresh and local produce. We've been there probably half a dozen times and the food and cocktails are never the same. Chef Amol is truly talented and we can't wait to see what he will serve next. We chose Bardo for our rehearsal dinner and couldn't have been happier. The ambience, service, food, and beverages were all perfection. Our guests couldn't stop raving about it! We will continue to choose Bardo to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and other special life events.
The summer menu was amazing and the vibe and energy in the dining room is delightful. Itâs a warm and welcoming haven!
This is one of my favorite dining experiences in Oakland! EVERY SINGLE course is excellent here— apps, entrees, drinks, desserts. The whole program is thoughtful and flavorful. Food is well-seasoned, beautiful and creative. I’m not even vegan and I enjoy their seasonal vegan dish.Truly a treat!

I have been here a few times in the last couple of months and LOVE it. The staff is super friendly and incredible. Food and cocktails are top notch! Highly recommend coming here for any occasion. My favorite is the chicken and grits, and the spicy mango margarita!
