The only reservations they would give us were at 8:15, but to our surprise we were almost the only folks in the restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful interior. Chips, salsa and guacamole were very good, along with the fresh coconut drink and fresh fruit smoothie. Dinner was slow to arrive, and very soon they began signaling that they wished we would wrap it up and get going.I had the two tacos. I chose the Sea Bass and shrimp. Sea Bass was good; shrimp over cooked. To my surprise the black beans and rice were both cold. My wife had a house salad with added salmon. The salad was missing several of the described ingredients. It was basically just a bowl of packaged spring mix with a few pecans and apple slices. Our son-in-law's dish was pretty tasty, but was missing its grilled vegetables. Our daughter had chile relleno with mole sauce that was very good. Rice pudding was okay.My wife visited the ladies room, and then politely asked the staff to please stock it with toilet tissue and soap, as there was none. Unfortunately, thus did not happen, so when other women visited the restroom at the end of the meal, there was still not any tissue or soap. The restaurant automatically added a 20% tip to our party of 4 adults and 2 young children. We often tip more than 20%, and just thought this was not appropriate.

I went there on Saturday at about 6:30 with someone. We were placed in the corner and sort of forgotten about. When the appetizers finally came out, about two minutes later the main course arrived. Our food was good, but we had to ask several times for our refills. We were sat right next to the door because we didn't have reservations, but there was plenty of room for us at other tables throughout our time there.

Wonderful experience at Agave. We got the Fiesta platter and everything was delicious. Highly recommend trying both mole (we each had our favorites). Food was an easy A/A+.What made our experience particularly memorable was the fantastic service. Gabi (sorry if we spelled your name wrong) helped us throughout the meal, though she wasn't our main waitress. She checked on us frequently, explained the dishes in depth (we didn't know a lot of the components of Fiesta), and exuded excitement and knowledge of the dishes. We were convinced that she was the owner, and were shocked to find out that she wasn't even a manager. If our service experience is the standard at Agave, you have some of the best staff in the business. I would guess we got lucky with Gabi, but excited to see in our future visits!

I was so excited to eat here and was so incredibly disappointed.I have an onion allergy and asked the waiter to make sure my seafood tacos would be without onions or else I’d get really sick.He promised and reassured me no onions. My food comes out and I’m super excited as it looks so good. I take a bite and it’s full of raw onions, I was sick for two days afterwards.I let the waiter know and he barely apologized, and blamed the kitchen. I wish they took more accountability for making a mistake like that. The waiter didn’t seem to care and it didn’t phase him that I was sick from the food.I’m never write reviews, but I think that this restaurant should be more careful with allergies.

Food is good. The strawberry margarita was ok. Chips & guacamole are excellent. Service was attentive. I had a tesada (thin steak). My dining companion had 2 chicken tacos & enjoyed them.

Just had a VERY pleasurable dining experience @ Agave Uptown in the Oakland Kapor Center! Our food was ABSOLUTELY delicious, & every member of the staff we encountered was very friendly, personable, & helpful!I ordered the fish tacos with salmon & sea bass, & I can honestly say that they were the best seafood tacos I have ever had—FULL of expertly prepared fresh seafood that was well complemented by diced mango & a tasty sauce just brimming with flavor!A companion ordered the chicken mole bowl & was just as impressed as I was! Our other companion ordered the chicken & pork tacos & was also VERY pleased. They also ordered the Brussels sprouts mole appetizer, which they raved about. My lemonade was simply the best I have ever ordered @ a restaurant, very nice & tangy & flavorful, as was the hibiscus agua fresca that my companion enjoyed.Every member of the wait staff greeted us in a very friendly manner & frequently tended 2 our needs, often asking how our food was & offering 2 do anything else 4 us throughout the night, VERY attentive 2 our needs! We WILL b back!!

Love this restaurant they kept me going during the pandemic. Delicious food and cocktails. Seems authentic, the specials are worth it. This place is nicer and food is lighter than the greasy spoon fare (which of course is also awesome), so it’s a decent date spot at a good price point. Clean, nice service, outdoor covered and heated seating.

Delicious food. Try the Nopales when you go there. Decent price range.

I spent all my time eating tacos. Seriously. I know tacos are supposed to be the appetizer but you'd do just as well coming hungry and spending the entire time eating tacos. They were delicious.

This is a great location for dinner before Paramount or Fox Theatre events. A good looking, contemporary, farm fresh restaurant with a friendly, helpful waitstaff. offers a full Bar and a great selection of Mescals. Chicken Enchiladas, Coloradito Chicken Mole (fabulous!) & Beef Tasajo with great "house made" tortillas have generous portions. Park in one of the $20 lots near the theaters and enjoy a 1 - 2 block walk after dinner back to the performance.
