The vibe of this place is really great. When we arrived, we were sat down immediately, however after that it took 20+ minutes before a server came to our table. The service as a whole gets a 1/5 stars and the food was just okay. I probably wouldn’t stop by again.
This review is for Rachel.. my friend and I visited after work (we both also work in customer service). Rachel was so attentive and efficient. She was flying around the restaurant but was also so engaged with anyone who needed her, always looked our way while passing by to see if we needed her. I put my soda straw into my other drink.. a few seconds later she put another straw in my soda cup, noticing that I had switch it! Like, who notices those details? Rachel! Just awesome!
First one waiter for a big *** restaurant that at least needs like 7_10 waiters so it takes more than expected time, second the size of salad even Animals can't handle it, presentation 10/10 ability to eat as a human being without look like Goat or cow in the field 0/10 my visit takes me 20 minutes 18 of em waiting for taking my order and to get my order and 2 minutes to get disappointed with the size of the veggies and pay my check and leave first and last time ever
Service was fine. Quiet night there and they took care of us well.Biggest disappointment was the chicken wings. They didn't taste good (old oil?) And they were tiny. I'm not even kidding that these were close to the worst wings I've ever had.The pretzel and beer cheese was just as good as ever, and the drinks were on par with what I've had before. I'd say I've had the wings there about 6 times.
I went for dinner and had a lovely meal. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was very nice, and the fries were tasty. The staff and drinks were enjoyable as well. I returned for lunch a couple of days later; however, the food was not as good on my next visit. The Chicken Sandwich was lackluster and soggy, while the lunch fries seemed to be frozen crinkle fries. The staff was still kind and helpful though. Beware of the tomato soup, it's made with cinnamon! My best friend actually thought that they gave her pumpkin soup by mistake. So, we asked the server and it was confirmed to be the tomato soup, but the cinnamon throws you off.
HopMonk is great! Met a few friends for a lunch send off and the food was great as usual. My favorites are the Mediterranean Salad and the Kale Cesar Salad with chicken. Everyone was happy with their meal. It was super busy and our waiter was attentive and the service was great. He even took the time to take our photo!!
Our waitress Rachel was amazing! We had a large party but she was attentive and came over every time a new party member joined the group. The food and drinks were great as well.
We’ve been regulars at Hop Monk in Novato, but they took it to a new level this evening. Our waitress was Rachel and that’s where the magic started. She was kind and professional and made an incredible suggestion: Calamari. I love calamari and this calamari rocks it! It was out fast and paired nicely with the beer. The house burger is a great bet as well and I’ve never had a bad one. Tonight, it was a 10! Could it have been the Rachel effect? Possibly. This is a great stop — good food, a great vibe, spectacular beverages and amazing service. Thank you, Hop Monk, and thank you, Rachel!!
This is the second time I’ve gone to Hopmunk in Novato. The service is 5/5 the staff are so sweet and professional. The food is so so, and doesn’t hit the mark. I think the best part of hopmonk would be the outdoor dining area with the live music. Also this place is dog friendly fyi
Great food, good selection. The wait staff was friendly and fast. Good selection of beers. Inside as well as outside seating. The outside is heated but I suggest bringing a jacket at night. They do have tables for large groups.
