Wasn’t impressed at all. The menu items sound amazing when you read them and they have a vast selection of food but the quality just wasn’t there and neither was the authenticity.
Food was good. We had chile, rellenos, enchilada and sopa.Tortilla chips are plentiful and warm to hot. Very good . A bit understaffed just like most places. I think their house Margaritas are overpriced at $12.
Everyone liked their food. The chips were rather good, nice and fresh/warm. The salsa had a good flavor and a little heat. The price was good too. All in all a win I think.
Dear El Rey please take the review below as constructive criticism to better your food. Presentation is good/ decor is good/ but it lacks in quality and taste. You have the bar part down now is just getting the grill quality part down.The mole is more salty then flavorful. This is more tex mex food than mexican. It does not warrant the pricing for the quality of food.1.Mole enchiladas 3 out of 102. Carne Asada plate - meat was dry3. Beans taste like Rosarito can beans4. Carnita Burrito - fell apart on the first bite/ meat was dry.Drinks were good / wait time for food was 30 min(not busy).
So me and three friends we went to this restaurant to enjoy a nice Saturday afternoon. it first started with slow service and the place was not even busy there was probably four other tables besides ours at this restaurant. they brought me a sprite that did not taste like sprite at all they didn’t bring our beverages on time, there was four of us there and only one small basket of chips was provided. I ordered an appetizer and normally the appetizer is something to eat while we wait for the main food so they bring us out to appetizers we ordered wings it was only nine wings and they’re very small finally our food came out of four dishes only one was heated up correctly and that was a chimichanga me and my cousin order two wet burritos and the meat was cold. The waitress and the bartender we’re trying to go out of their way and convince us that the meat was cold because of the sour cream and the pico de gallo and that was not the case at all I am able to differentiate the csuse of the cold meat and I can very well assure you it was not the sour cream or pico de gallo. and it was very little meat inside the burrito, was nothing but rice we brought this to the waitresses attention the waitress pretty much rolled her eyes snickered and it was very trashy look that she had visible hickeys on her neck which is not OK considering this is a family establishment and it is not OK for young girls growing up thinking that they could be waitresses and have hickeys as a possible future. my cousin sent back the food to be heated up. now the food was steaming hot to the point where you couldn’t even eat or enjoy it I sent back my burrito after finding more cold meat in there which leads me to believe that it was previously refrigerated or frozen especially coming from an experience background in the Mexican restaurant business. with the type of service we received here today the type of food that was served the ineffectiveness and late serving on the food and not knowing that an appetizer needs to be served before the main meal I do not recommend this place to anybody at all. They need to have a very good talk with the cook on how to properly heat up the food he is serving they need to fire the waitress for coming to work with visible multiple hickeys that is very unbecoming of a establishment of this caliber. I still cannot believe we went from Santa Rosa to Novato for this type of service. Now I am not familiar with this place but it was recommended to me buying acquaintance of mine so I don’t know if there were off Under game today or not but I won’t be coming back to find out but that waitress with the multiple visible hickeys on her neck and the high tech that makes her roll her eyes when you ask her something needs to Be laid off. My post cannot be a lie or slander because the proof is in the hickeys.
Ordered something unusual there a hamburger from a Mexican restaurant but it really was good nice flavor good meat good toppings bun everything outstanding
The environment was amazing. Employees are very helpful and very polite!! The food is really good.

why does the service have to be so bad? so much sitting around waiting to order. waiting for water after asking two different people. waiting for ever to pay the bill after done wating. It was not busy at all.
