One of the best Korean BBQ experiences I've had in LA - no more driving to K-town for me, Northridge will do just fine, more than fine. From the exquisite Kimchi (house made) fried rice (pictured) to the equally exquisite BTS poster in the restroom (also pictured), MGD was a mad good dining experience from the moment we walked in the door. Attentive and accommodating staff, the largest menu I've ever seen, and a K-pop playlist chock full of bangers hit the speakers the moment they saw my Blackpink shirt.Get there early, this place fills up fast, be prepared to spend a premium penny for premium food and remember to tip well - sure, you cooked your food, but they took care of everything else.?
The galbi was very good but you can only order 1 per person, and the blue icicle soju shot was very tasty. the vibe is really nice I just wish the were more meat options for the price.
Recommending the top 4 items. Beef Bulgogi & Marinated La Galbi are delicious. No lamb meat. The grill can take 5-10 mins to heat up. This place is pack around 5:30 PM Thursday. It was a different experience from the hot pot version.
I am so happy Northridge finally has a legit spot to get my nearly weekly kbbq fix. I know there's a few other ayce Korean BBQ spots in the area but they're either limited, basic, questionable quality or taste like the Chili's of kbbq (looking at you, Gen) The menu has plenty of options for everyone. My personal favorites are the Pork Belly Bulgolgi, Boneless Galbi and Fried Chicken. Steamed egg and tofu soup is also a must whenever I visit. They have a bar with solid pitcher prices, beer for every preference, soju, sake, and I believe they even have wine. If you plan on coming with a large party or a weekend evening, be sure to call ahead or go early because everyone loves this place and there may be a wait. But don't let a wait deter you, it's worth it! Parking can get pretty full, but isn't impossible. For my handicapped friends, there are a couple handicap parking spots toward the front of the building. There should be plenty of room to get in and navigate. It may get a bit crowded inside but the staff is super friendly and helpful, and I'm confident they'd make sure you were taken care of just as they have taken care of me and my groups.
Amazing service and of course delicious food! The owner and his wife are so nice and made sure we had a fantastic night! The drinks were fun and delectable!
Great place where the owners are actually working alongside everyone else and talking to all their guests. Price is about the same as Gen but in my opinion tastes way better. Their Taro shots are dangerously delicious and I would recommend trying it at least once. Even though it’s been open for a few months now there is still sometimes a two hour wait, which says a lot about the establishment’s quality and service.
MGD BBQ offers fantastic value for the food. They provide great service and dining experience. I would absolutely make this one of my go to restaurants when i am in the area. Unfortunately I live too far away to visit often.
This place has great KBBQ, super nice and friendly staff, and awesome service. Went there for a second time with my friend to compare our first trip and I must say they've exceeded our expectations. Will definitely return and recommend this to everyone!
Was looking for a new Korean BBQ AYCE spot so decided to try this place out. It’s $27.95 for adults and $10.95 for kids 5-12. Everyone was super friendly but service was hit and miss. They set up our table right away. They do have a patio with heat lamps so we chose to sit out there with very little wait time. Our grill wasn’t turned on when we sat down which was fine as it warmed up quickly but I’m used to the grill being oiled down to prevent the meats from sticking. They promptly took our food order, but had to ask for a few items a few times before we actually got it. Once we did get the meats, the first round of meats immediately stuck to the grill and they never came around for a grill change. The sauces and the side dishes (banchan) came halfway through our meal. The marinated meats were really tasty including the galbi and miso pork belly which were my favorites. The Kimchee fried rice was delicious. They also have a good amounts of meats and other dishes you can choose from as part of the all you can eat. Think there were about 40 things on the menu to choose from. There’s also alot of parking in the back just in case the front is full.I would give them a 4 stars for the food but a 3 for service. Wish I could give half stars as I think they deserve a 3 1/2 stars.
Absolutely delicious food and great service. They have tortillas on the menu and that was awesome you must try making your own fusion tacos ? I cannot wait to return and try more stuff. Yumminess ??
