HORRIBLE & RUDE service. Walked in to quickly feed my hungry pregnant self and the employee was very rude about informing that they were closed. Wouldn’t even allow me to grab a quick premade sandwich, keep in mind there were other in the cafe still checking out.
It was an average place to eat. Kind of pricey. Some of the food was good depending on what you prefer .
We had ordered the citrus chicken and mojo pork platters. We almost got the pomegranate salad and plantain chips, but thought that we can go back and get it if we were still hungry. We didnt need it. You get a few plantain chips and a large portion of baked beans and rice on each platter. The chicken was roasted and good. You get half a chicken. The mojo pork is pulled pork soaked in a sauce. The chicken and pork were good. Just not a fan of the bean and rice mix. Maybe if they would've been better separated. The plantains were nice and crispy. The 2 platters was more than enough food for our daughter and us.
Cafeteria style dining ( note there are two lines) A great place to get a huge turkey leg and also themed desserts plenty of sitting
I went here to eat when we couldn’t find any seats at other restaurants on the upper level. The burgers are burned and the fries feel like rubber. The burgers are the worst of them all, the bacon is as hard as stone, and the burgers are burned all the way to the center. It was a horrible experience to eat here, don’t make the same mistake as me!
Ate here after riding The Mummy, it was over priced and did not taste any better than McDonald’s, seemed like same options as well, burgers or chicken strips, and fries. The other part of our group ate at the French cafe on the upper lot and said it was delicious. It gave us food in our bellies, that was about it.
Burger is dry and fries are soft & greasy. But where else would you want to go. At least the A/C is working. The Caesar salad is decent and fresh, which nudge up the ranking.
If I could give this venue (I can't even call it a restaurant), a zero, I would! We don't use fast-food restaurants on a regular basis - we was a party of 40-50 year olds - travelling from London to L.A. and driving up to San Fran. But everyone said we should give Universal a try so we did, and we absolutely loved it! But, we hadn't thought about Googling 'restaurants inside Universal'! Of course, everything has to be packed in, so around 1pm, after a studio tour, we was hungry and the first restaurant we came upon was JURASSIC CAFE! We'd booked our next tour, so we had to eat - my God, I wish we hadn't bothered! This restaurant was packed (yes, it was lunchtime), but it was like a zoo - two queues, snaking up and down, all queuing to look in glass containers filled with a dodgy caesar salad, chips, turkey legs and whatever else was on offer! The men wanted burgers and chips and that's what I ordered, but my caesar salad got forgotten, so by the time that came up, the burger and chips were cold! Awful chips too - never seen anything like them; large, frozen packets - yuck! Maybe the attraction could be the refillable litre cups of coke? God knows ........... doesn't seem to be any other attraction, that's for sure! But, who can drink that much fizz? At around $20 per head, I expected a little better. Don't think I've ever seen or eaten a burger like it! Dirty trays, mess everywhere, complete mayhem. To be honest, I should have walked out, but I couldn't because I was with a party! Do yourself a favour, research into the Universal restaurants, or pack yourself a nice lunch. Don't waste your money on this place - can't believe that Universal allow such a rubbish establishment to operate within their confines!
When tired, hot and hungry in a theme park you just need to find food in an air conditioned room. Positives: A/C, lines move fast Negatives: blah and expensive food.
Had a lunch in the park today. The turkey leg was very dry and salty. We tasted it and left the rest. The pizza is was ok, but as it was not completely cooked, it did not taste that good. The fried onion rings was also ok, but not great. On the plus side was the queueing system. It could’ve been very efficient if people had picked what they wanted and payed. Instead people were waiting in line with those who was actually waiting for food. But hey, what can you expect from us tourists...
