Volcano Hawaiian BBQ is no longer in business. Location was sold and the name is now Taste Bud. The menu remained the same but the food and customer service is nothing compared to the last owners. The combination fried rice was bland and the garlic shrimp had old burnt oil taste. We've had been coming Volcano Hawaiian BBQ for years and we're sad to know they sold. The pic is hard to believe but it's not good shrimp.
I go here once or twice a month pick up lunch for the department, and everything is always great. The food is good, especially the katsu chicken and the grilled beef. And I love the macaroni salad. The portions are big, the service is effective, and the place is accessible, with nearby van parking and ramps. The only problem is that the parking lot is jammed, and sometimes it's a good long walk to the place. But that's not the fault of the restaurant.

Chicken Katsu and the chicken and beef are great really filles you up.
The chicken tasted pre cooked. I did not enjoy the food much but my daughter loved it. So, I gave them 3 stars.
I love the spam musubi everything tastes fresh and delicious never had a bad experience from here.
Honestly, not sure how this place is getting rated so highly. The chicken katsue was smashed extremely thin where the breading was often thicker. It was discolored and Grey in some areas. The katsue sauce was very watery. Like they took anywhere else's sauce as just halfed it with water. Pretty sure the Mac salad is just macaroni, some strings of carrot and mayo. 0 seasoning. Even the cabbage has no flavoring, was more similar to shredded lettus. None of it was repulsive but it was all pretty below average.
Sat down to eat our meal and it tasted terrific. I then went to fill my soda cup and the soda machine was so dirty. I brought it to the cashier's attention but she didn't look at it. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Hopefully they will clean things up.
Best bbq chicken and rice in town or I ever had. I highly recommend and the deal is always worth it as well. Will be coming back for more.
