I remember when this place was new. It's still a solid go to sushi spot in OC.

The service is good, but the sushi pieces are way too small for the price. We left hungry despite ordering 3 dishes.

10/10 would visit again for Wasa's service, ambiance, taste and presentation of dishes. Had a nice set meal teppanyaki with Chef David. The staff was very personable and all the dishes presented tasted great. Would highly recommend the seafood appetizers and definitely attend a teppanyaki dinner when here.

Love the place. They use fresh ingredients. A nice sushi bar and teppan table setting. We like dine in more than Togo. They only take phone call foe reservation. It is hard to get weekend dinner time table because they only open for dinner on weekend.

Great selection of Japanese Whiskys. Yumi (?) at the bar really knows her stuff and treated us to a great experience right before Christmas. Wonderful food, great drinks, great people!

Very "underwhelming" experience pretty much sums it up. There was nothing special or memorable at all - the restaurant uses white lighting so just walking in you already feel like you've entered an airport diner near your gate. There was no "glow" to the ambiance or decor or really, anything inside. We felt we could have gotten the food to go and had a better experience in our own living room.Fish quality was great, but the rolls themselves were hardly special. I love sushi and probably the least picky - I'll eat and enjoy anything. But this was an experience that could have been achieved with grocery store sushi. I know this sounds like an insult perhaps, but out of 8 rolls that we shared among ourselves, not one was a "wow" or "oooh, ahh". Same as any where else. The final kicker was that even the edamame - probably the simplest of pleasures and most common - came with no salt. The result was just a bland, basic, boring experience. I wouldn't come back although the service itself was pretty good to their credit.

Absolute favorite Newport restaurant for lunch. Bento boxes filled with a variety of dishes including 4 pieces of sushi, salad, miso soup, vegetable and shrimp tempura . I usually order steak but salmon and chicken are also available. The food is first rate and the service is amazing. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Stopped by because our friend and sushi chef Yuta invited us over. Great place, friendly staff, and delicious food. Grabbed a few drinks and sushi rolls and it all came out fantastic. Met the owner Bronnie and he was very friendly. Will stop by again when I am back in town.
