It is a nice and small place, the bathroom is outside, they treated us wonderfully, their dishes are delicious; very tasty garlic bread.

Romantic restaurant with authentic food. We enjoyed the veal cannelloni and bolognese and both were excellent.
Loved our meal here ~ atmosphere and service were excellent! Lobster ravioli, cannelloni and tiramisu were hits! Will be back.
This is a really cute little place in Newport. We had some delicious Chianti and our entrees were delicious. We highly recommend the lobster ravioli and chicken trattoria.
Very small rustic restaurant located on Balboa Island's main street Marine. Run by owner and usually quite busy, so do make reservations. Food is quite good, fresh pasta and a great menu. Service is not super quick; but, efficent. The only drawback is there is no restroom in the restaurant and must go down a alley. We have been here a few times and have enjoyed it.
Not what i expected. Food was ok. Service started nice when we got seated but after we ordered our food it was unpleasant. They serve you sink water. I was planning on ordering a different drink but they Never asked how everything was or got any refills. My pasta had no flavor. I had to get up and get my own salt and pepper. When they serve you the plates they don't say excuse me and just go right beside you almost hitting you in the face. I understand it is a tiny restaurant but you can at least let us know that you're coming with the food. Not worth the price in plates.
Service was poor, we never felt welcomed by the host. Food was not good enough to compensate the bad service. Definetly will never return.
"Better than Italy" is on Marine Avenue, Balboa Island. If only I'd had the nerve to ask for their recipe for the marinara-like sauce we dipped our lightly crusted Calimari in. My husband covered while I used my finger to scrape the last out of the bowl. The calimari was perfectly prepared. Hubby had vongole - and left nothing behind - while I chose a light Mediterranean sandwich on crisply toasted bread. I have never raved about salad dressing, believe me, but the dressing for the Caesar salad had a hint of garlic that happily stayed with me for awhile. I wish we were staying for awhile longer so we could go back and ramble through some more. Cathy Phillips
Very small but authentic making for a great personal experience. Everyone was kind and attentive. Small menu but honestly makes a choice fast and no matter what you get it will be great.
