Best omakase in Orange County
Over-priced!!! Good quality but should NEVER cost $400 for two people and this doesn’t include a tip. Outrageous. It was not even very much food. So shameful. We will NEVER go back. The one star is only because the chef Yoshi was kind. Other customers were upset about their huge bill too. We have eaten at several sushi restaurants over the years and know what prices should be.
I came to Shan Shi Go with one of my sushi enthusiast friends. We decided to sit at the sushi bar rather than sit down as if you do so you can do omakase rather than the set menu. I don't think it's officially listed on their printed menus with a price but it is really good. The sushi chefs know their stuff and come up with amazing combos. The service is really fast and the whole place is super clean. I would definitely recommend coming by if you want to do omakase in Newport or if you just like sushi.

San Shi Go was a hidden gem I stubbled upon on a Wednesday evening. Reservations are required. I suggest booking a seat for the sushi bar for the best seat in the house! Go for the Omakase and let the chef take you on a sushi adventure.
