This place is quite the spot, busy and lively. I would recommend stopping by 30-45 mins before the time you want to eat and then go look around the plaza while you wait. The food is just enough, not too big of a portion. If you have a big appetite then you might need to order a bunch or go eat someplace else. Overall the dishes are not too heavy either. The sandwiches are overall just enough and not too big. We got the meatballs to start, came with romesco and creamy green sauce. The dover sole was light and flavorful. The tartar sauce was not as strong and overall, light and the touch with lemon set up was great. The rubenesque was a nice light sandwich and just filling enough. Familiar flavors but light and tasted fresh and of quality. French dip au jus sandwich was light as well but tasty, quality. Ding’s crispy chicken sandwich was a great take on a fried chicken sandwich. It was definitely lighter than expected, flavorful and just enough of a portion but not too much. The crisp was there throughout and it was overall just plain delicious. If I had to choose out of all the sandwiches the fried chicken and French dip is probably your best bet. Now, on to one of the best things that you will ever try is the carrot cake. It is light and flavorful and overall one of the best carrot cakes you’ll have. The marscapone “cream cheese” frosting is a great take and use of the classic. I would come back just for the carrot cake. Overall this place is solid and of quality. Highly recommend.

Convenient rest stop for a glass of wine and I had a Cobb Salad. Nice size, well made to their twist on it. Excellent wait help, especially Cera. They wear chef outfits that are sparkling clean and starched. Ladies makeup was impeccable. A little pricey, but not overly. I'll be back

Excellent food but, the staff a bit of a turn off. Extremely busy during a Friday Lunch. Hostess won’t let you get past the door without checking you in, (even for bar seating party of 1) she’s obviously stressed, apologetic at times but not a good vibe when you enter a restaurant for the first time. Almost made me turn and leave but after scoping the room, I figured food was good since it was so busy. Finally got the call for my time to be seated the hostess was a bit friendlier, apologizing for the wait and escorted me to my seat at the bar. Once I sat down, the bartender greets me with a friendly hello, I enthusiastically responded hello! Then he proceeds to tell me “You may want to check in with the hostess at the front desk”. Was not a person of color in the place neither staff or patron, (except for me) I responded “I ALREADY DID” ..Can’t help but wonder if he asked everyone who filled an empty bar seat the same question? A bit Unlikely!! Especially if he’s ever met the hostess at the door who monitored every open seat in the place and probably would have come to personally take me by the arm and escort me to the door if I wasn’t assigned that seat. Just saying!! Food EXCELLENT but not sure I’ll return.

Our favorite Fashion Is. restaurant. Covered outdoor seating gives some sun & great people watching. Large indoor bar & booth seating - all w/ outdoor view. Excellent chicken, wine list & cocktails. Refined clientele

Sat down to have lunch and Kelly the manager comes over to have my husband remove his hat! Other people at the bar had there hat on! We were seated in a booth in the bar. There was a man speaking so loud we could not hear one another. This was not enjoyable and the server confirmed the loudness and requested Kelly to speak to the patron. Kelly did nothing! We spent over 110.00 for a loud and not relaxing or fun time. We eat at this brand restaurants 3-4 times a month in Phoenix! This is how to destroy brand loyalty!!!!!!

One of my favorite spots to dine in Orange County! Always busy! Great food and drinks and just a good vibes all around.Appetizer of choice: Dip Duo is my go toFood: Torn between the Fried Chicken Sandwich or CheeseburgerYou can try to book online otherwise expect to have a wait if you plan to walk in.

R+D kitchen is a real upscale restaurant located in the Fashion Island center of Newport Beach. Get there early because it is very popular and gets full. We were at the bar and had some very delicious cocktails. Good looking crowd and friendly staff. The bartender was very nice and she is proficient at her craft cocktails. It was a fun time for all.

I highly recommend making a reservation before dining here, unless you are not in a hurry, and don’t mind waiting an hour or two at the bar. The drinks are great, and the food is delicious. There are plenty of options to choose from. The staff members are very relaxed, and act like humans which is refreshing. Sometimes they can be a little sassy, but having worked in service for 10+ years, it happens sometimes as busy as this place gets. There is plenty of seating. The vibe is great, and I’d definitely come here again.

The service was excellent. We shared a couple appetizers which were delicious yet kind of small for the price. The patio seating is awesome. Great drinks! Overall great ambience.

Great place for a pretty casual meal. Good portions were pretty big, none of us finished our entire plates.Service was great as well, very polite, very quick and very attentive!
