The food was decent, the view from the upstairs balcony was pretty, but the service wasn’t very good. It wasn’t very busy at the time but our server kept hurrying us along to order. The food came out quickly, although several things from our order were incorrect it was still delicious. We had been eating for about ten minutes when she came back and asked if we wanted boxes, dessert and the check. She said they don’t normally split checks but because it wasn’t busy she would do it. I would say it’s a bit pricey for what you get, but the view and the location cancel out some things.

The name,, Newport Landing, refers to a nice little area where a cute little pair of 3 car ferries bring cars and people across the little strait to and from Balboa Island. There's a recreational area with rides appropriate for children. The Newport Landing Restaurant is quite good. It has valet parking, and there's also street parking. We had calimari. It was reasonably good. I had New England Clam Chowder. It was very good. I also had mussels in marinara sauce, also good, and a garden salad. The restaurant was clean and neat. The server was friendly and efficient. The prices were reasonable. We had an excellent dining experience at the Newport Landing Restaurant.

I would rate that place more than 5 stars if possible, we did not have any reservations on a Sunday afternoon which is obviously a busy time of the day but yet we were welcomed and accommodated in less than 10 minutes and probably in the best place on the upper deck patio where you can see the awesome view and enjoy the nice music, the whole vibe is outstanding, the drinks and the food are good but the service and the place complimented the whole experience. Prices are reasonable for such a place in balboa island, portions are good but definitely could be better, the food is fresh and taste good, the place is very authentic and the decorations and wall mount pictures add to the general ambience, it is highly recommended specially of you are more into seafood. We tried the fish and ships, pasta with white sauce and salad and it was great

Just don’t bother. Visited with a reservation on a Saturday night in March. We were seated immediately, but people behind us were told 30-40 minute wait even with lots of empty tables, so that was first sign they are understaffed. Next sign was tables not being cleared off for 10-15 min after people left. Our server was clearly harried and having to manage too much - everything he did was rushed. Not his fault, but not really enjoyable when your server can afford you no time because he’s overworked. Family of four ordering, one appetizer request came back incorrect. When dinner arrived it was okay, and fairly generic. Diver scallops were indistinguishable from any scallops I’ve had elsewhere, no better than I get from the grocery store, and four of them for $36 with a mushy rice pilaf felt like a scam. Oysters were unremarkable. Everything, really, was unremarkable, which is kind of a drag at this price point. If you’re visiting town, eat literally anywhere else. You’ll spend less and will enjoy the food more.

Lovely place to stop by for a bite with a nice view and great customer service. Out of all places we have visited, this is one of the best we recommend for seafood. The ceviche, mussels and oysters are very good, highly recommended!Kelsea was exceptional, helpful and always attentive, she deserves employee of the month award.

One of the lifeguards in Newport Beach recommended this place for a birthday dinner when we were visiting the area. It became a favorite place to visit whenever we were in town. Cannot recommend highly enough. Service, food, beverages...all superior. Even have a tremendous happy hour.

Great food and service. Called to see if I needed a reservation. The hosted was very polite and professional. When I arrived she was very friendly and made me feel welcomed. Got seated at a great upstairs, outside table. Great view of the FunZone. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Served my drink promptly and food came out shortly after. Food was excellent! Definitely worth it. They have seating inside both downstairs and upstairs. They even have seating across the front, bayside that is clear tented. You can bring pets there or watch the boats.

Good food. Ordered small plates of oysters, shrimp, mussels. Food was good and served fairly quickly. The wait between being seated and getting the wine was definitely too long. Overall service wasn't bad and the views were great.

October 8, 2021 10 of us stopped in for dinner tonight and without a reservation. We were able to sit out on the dock inside a covered tent with electric heaters which made it very comfortable. Desiree arrived promptly, answered several questions about the menu items, and took our drink and appetizer orders. The calamari strips were perfectly prepared and tasty. The beer battered onion rings were enjoyed by all. The clam appetizer had plenty of roasted garlic. We had several French dip sandwiches and they were tender (we did not finish all of them and were able to get au jus to go). We also had several orders of the fish and chips and half and half. The fish was fluffy and tasty and the coleslaw was fabulous. The squash soup was yummy. We took plenty home with us as the portions are large. Desiree, thank you for your sense of humor.

Wonderful service. Our waitress (Becky) was extremely friendly and helpful. She was attentive and worked super fast. Had a smile on her face at all times even though she was beyond busy. Great food. Super delicious
