If you’re out in Balboa for a nice tan this is the best spot to go for sandwiches.I always order the Italian sub very tasty and big.
Capocollo sandwich was significantly better than I expected. Really really good and nice to have easy access near the beach. Wife said her sandwich was ok, and that the bread definitely had room for improvement.
Best place to get a sandwich on the peninsula. If your heading down Balboa Blvd twords the wedge. Make sure to give Lombardy's a try. I Highly recommend the turkey pesto sub or Italiano. Eathier one you can't go wrong.
This little neighborhood deli is also a market providing all your daily basic needs. It adds a Northeast flair in a very SoCal neighborhood. Find your favorite drink and sit down to some made to order Northeast sandwiches like hoagies and Philly cheese steaks. I do hope the neighborhood appreciates and supports this family owned establishment.

I recommend the meat balls sandwich. The bread is amazing. Not too much sauce. And the meatballs are delicious. $12.
Very friendly staff and great little store with a nice selection of unique treats and things. I haven't ordered food yet from here but as a Dasher I know this place is popular with peninsula locals.
I used to come here for the chicken sandwich and pasta salad but my last visit was unpleasant. I spent over $40 for two sandwiches, potato and pasta salad for the bread to be completely stale and hard. Not happy with my experience and will rethink coming back next time I want a sandwich.
