The hostesses always seem to have a predjudice disposition. They are not friendly or welcoming. Which is too bad because the food, service and ambiance is A1.

We asked for outside seating and were placed into a metal roof tube with glass walls. No sound dampening in the ceiling or elsewhere. We wanted to move but we had a large party of 16. Could not hear the person next to you let alone across or the waiter. Wait staff excellent but I’d never go back no matter how good the food or service was. Too LOUD. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. It ended with waiting a long time for someone to come by so we could ask for the check and to pay.

Exceptional Mexican fine dining. The food and service was superb. The waiters were very attentive and the food was both authentic while being sophisticated. I love good chips and salsa and this place had some of the best. I would come back here in heart beat. Well done Sr. Javier.

The Good: The fashion show is a hoot. The service is attentive. The food is good. The Bad; VERY trendy. VERY crowded. Too expensive for what you get. The Ugly: Way too loud. Parking is ridiculous.

We just had such a lovely night with my friend. First time in Newport Beach and it didn’t disappoint. Paloma gave us the best recommendations for food and cocktails. The setting was exactly what we were looking for, food and cocktails were fantastic and the service was outstanding. Thanks for a great night Paloma you are always welcome in Scotland!

Came here for lunch today. The restaurant is gorgeous. Every room was nicely decorated and had a slightly different vibe. As I walked through I kept picturing hosting my birthday dinner there. The room we got was on the darker side but it was kind of windy outside so we embraced the cozy room we had. Service was great. Very attentive. I wouldn't expect any less from an establishment such as this. Unfortunately when it came to the food, it was lackluster. Ceviche | Probably the best thing we ordered. Nicely flavored and seasoned. Perfectly "cooked" and tart. Was mostly shrimp, and this may sound odd but we actually wanted some more onions or tomatoes or herbs. Mole Poblano | The mole was a little salty and the chicken dry. Enchiladas de Cangrejo | Tasty but very decadent. Nothing mind blowing. Enchiladas, Chile Relleno, & Taco Combination | It's a hard taco but the shell was more tough and chewy than crispy. The enchiladas and Relleno were fine. Carnitas | The carnitas was cooked well and tasted good. The flower tortillas was a table favorite. We all agreed this was the most tasty dish of the table. Drinks were good. Both the Tamarindo and Guava Margarita were tasty.

Javier's Restaurant in Newport Beach is just the place to be! The food is spectacular, very tasty and the freshness is always on point. My all time Mexican Dish is Chicken Fajitas, Rice and Black Beans and Javier's is the BEST I've had! The vegetables aren't over cooked and the meat is so tender and well seasoned. You can always tell good food when you don't need the salt and pepper. This is definitely the place for a date, any celebrations or just to get together with friends or family. Great food and good music, you can't go wrong here!

Chilean sea bass was delicious. Service was pretty great. Then obviously the proximity to the water. Fried ice cream is a little different, kind of felt like I've cream just rolled in cereal. Parking is a little bit crazy, even mid week and it's on the pricey side, but if that's the worst that's not too bad. Would still come back for a special occasion.

The tables had tops with almost the same size metal base underneath...this made it IMPOSSIBLE to eat at the table unless you sat sideways, spread your legs to try to straddle the base OR just reached 2 feet to get to your plate...table and chairs looked great, but not meant for humans to sit at...food was good, and service was a bit marginal , maybe because of size of restaurant not as attentive as you might want
