This place was amazing! We were in Newport for the weekend and looking for some good Italian food. And man did we find it! The Chef came to our table and explained the specials, which we ended up ordering. It was all fantastic! The fresh, homemade noodles were to die for. The squid salad was one of the best salads Iâve ever had. If you go here, just order what the Chef tells you. You wonât regret it! Lol
Staff is great and friendly. I have gone many times and the meal is always solid and good. I would recommend
True wine sauce is over powered by lemons, the restaurant hit charges an extra 3% for credit card/debit card useable, chef came to my table and his chef coat was all dirty, restaurant does not know the difference between a Chocolate soufflé or a truffle cake. risotto is not risotto two stars for the staff.
My friend, a resident of Newport Beach took us sightseeing to Balboa Island then we rode the ferry, in our car to the peninsula. Il Farro is one of my friend’s fave restaurant. After crawling along in traffic for 30 minutes (everyone looking for a coveted parking), we turned down a side street & lucked out with a free parking space 4 short blocks away.The hassle in traffic to find a parking was totally worth it once we were got there. Waitress was super friendly, drinks, bread with garlic olive oil were served within 10 mins of our arrival.Linguine pescatore, cioppino & pumpkin ravioli with pistachio pesto ALL delicious, well presented, good quality ingredients & large portions. Linguine was aldente & happy that garlic did not dominate the sauce.Interesting that chef, manager or owner (dressed in chef’s attire) answered phone, greeted & sat all the guests. He was not very friendly but it was ok bcz wait staff were all smiles & great.
The chef and staff made this experience for us! We had a large group (24 people) and they were so accommodating and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were very good as well. I have no complaints! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, they were willing to change plans throughout the evening to accommodate more people in our group. Our food came out all at the same time as well, which is very rare for a group so large. Everyone was more than satisfied. 10/10, will be coming back!
The food was amazing and the staff made you feel like family. This will be my go to for Italian food for the foreseeable future. Amazing!
