My favorite salad! First this place is a staple of Newport Beach. It's super cute chic inside and the staff is amazing! The cuisine is healthy Californian spin on asian cuisine. I ALWAYS get the combo salad 13/10 the best. The dumplings with the lime and cilantro sauce are amazing savory and refreshing, don't know how they achieved that at the same time. My husband got their kung poa chicken and was very happy with it.

I have been here a few times. Today the service was great, however, the food was more salty than I remembered. It also smelled better than it tasted. Perhaps it was an off day in the kitchen? I will try again.

I've been coming here over 20 years. It's always the first place I want to eat whenever I'm in Newport. I love Ho Sum!

Quaint and spectacular street corner with a view and wonderful ambience; friendly and helpful staff; ridiculous pricing for really, really insufferable 'asian' food.(Mushu pork was dry and the whole dish bitter due to to cheap cabbage end pieces added; the street noodles were overcooked and looked like something even panda express wouldn't serve; and the poached dumplings did not carry their weight in dollar signs despite how much we tried to praise its 5-spice sauce).Even after taking into account newport beach pricing, I wouldn't even consider returning to try out happy hours or bottomless brunch. Really hope this was just a one time fluke and that other patrons will have a more enjoyable experience with this Asian food.
