Very fun place to grab a burger and a shake - and I hear their breakfast is pretty great, too. The outdoor deck/patio seating gives beautiful coastline views. The whole vibe is very laid-back; between the location, the design of the shack, and the classic burger joint fare, eating here kind of becomes a whole experience. At least it did for this Midwestern visitor, maybe not so much for Southern California natives.Bonus - if you're into cars, you can try spotting exotics (by sight and by sound) going past on the Pacific Coast Highway... or sometimes right in the parking lot. It turns out Lamborghini drivers like burgers too!
Depending on when you go there can be a line of cars and/or people. There are only about 10 parking spots so patience is key but does move quicker than you expect. The shakes were the biggest hit in our group. Burgers were very good but not as good as the chain with a similar name. Service is brisk and the views of the beach and sunset is spectacular.
I am a teacher with a small private school and we took our students to Crystal Cove for an end of the year field trip. We had called in an order for our students and they went above and beyond in customer service! They wrote each child's name on their lunches/shakes despite being very busy! They were on time with our order and the food was great! All the teachers (myself included) were so pleased with how helpful they were! The manager even came out to greet us and had one of the workers help me carry our cart full of food down the stairs to our students! A + Shake Shack!!!! -Michelle
Recently visited Crystal Cove Shake Shack while on a family vacation. Parking can be a problem backing up into the highway however we got a spot in a 5 minutes. Service for ordering was fast and friendly. Food in less than 10 minutes. Burgers and shakes were very good. Awesome views from the cliff above Crystal Cove. $20 Per person for a tasty cheeseburger, fry and shake.
Nice view, but other than that…cheeseburger was fine, shake was okay. Sweet potato fries were not great. 20 bucks for a burger, fries and a shake. Just average food, cost too much.
Cool place to stop for a burger and shake. They have a good breakfast with Peet's coffee. Great view of the ocean. Limited parking.
Love this place, beautiful view and very relaxing
Ok. The locals know, parking at the shack is a nightmare. However, there is a state park parking lot near by. The food is good. The service is friendly and attentive. It is a food window but if you need anything they can and will grab it for you. Let's be honest. It's the view that you are here for.
A must go to location. Wonderful food with gluten-free options. The shakes are fantastic, but a little too sweet for my taste. Well worth the price. It has a wonderful view of the beach surrounding, sitting outside with the view of the ocean is an experience to be had. Eating a warm burger with crispy bacon with an ocean view with a cool breeze with a drink in your hand is something everyone needs to try.
The food is good, the shakes are delicious of course but here you come for the view. Few roadside eateries feel as iconically California as this Shake Shack location. This is why it’s one of our favorites when in Orange County despite the wait to get a parking spot. The BLTA sandwich is a favorite along with the pineapple shake.
