Called Friday they were booked with reservations we had a larger party of 7 but said we can sit you now the party behind you has reservations in about hour and half. We walked in ordered apps mozzarella sticks and cheese garlic bread both were delicious. Our party ordered Chicken parmigiana, lasagna made with steak as the meat unbelievably good, make your own pastas with meatballs and small 8” pizza. Only downfall was large pizza were take out only. The service was great everything was fresh and came out quickly. We got up from table at 6:57 perfect timing for next party coming in and never felt rushed. We will be back!
First impressions it a long wait. young persons a host and they rather talk to to each other,.. husband insisted to eating at Ciao. To our surprise we were seated immediately and served with a smile.. we ordered pasta, pizza excellent flavor, bread was fresh a bottle of wine no complaints listening to Frank Sinatra,Barbara stransand music in the background the best experience..ps.. try to come on weekdays, early evenings
This is a quaint little place in the heart of Balboa island. Amongst the hustle and bustle of tourists, it's like a quiet spot. I went in for late night on a Saturday night just before closing. I had driven Uber from San Diego up to Orange county and just needed a bite to eat. The lady that greeted me and served me was awesome. She was very nice, polite and attentive. The food was fantastic and it was a nice escape before returning to the highway. It sits right on the main Street on Balboa Island and is great for people watching. There's always something interesting going on outside the window. The prices are very good considering the fact it's in a high tourist area. After my meal I walked around the corner and strolled along the canal for a few minutes. It was a great experience.
Delicious Linguine Vongole (linguine with clams) and Pizza Margherita. Reasonable prices, good service and nice atmosphere.
The food is fantastic. We especially enjoyed the make your own pasta specials. But what really stood out was their service and courtesy. We asked for a table outside but got too hot. Ciao accommodated our request to move inside to help us escape the sun. Thank you!!
They really make the best tasting pasta and clam soup. I always go to this place and it never failed me.
The food was ok. Wasn't fresh, seemed like canned tomatoes. Extremely salty. The caprese was good though
Excellent service! Friendly staff! Delicious food! Who could ask for anything more?The spaghetti ? was so delicious! And the portion was so big, I had enough left over for my lunch at work for the next 2 days!Great experience! You should definitely go if you're in the area! ?
This was a pleasant surprise on the charming Balboa Island! I was with a couple friends and all of us enjoyed our meals and service. Definitely a popular spot because on a weekday we waited for about 30-45 minutes. I highly recommend the chicken piccata.
Our meal was perfect. Our server Miguel was very helpful and attentive. We had the lasagna, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's so juicy and tender. The fried calamari was also very delicious. We paired our meal with a Chianti which exceeded our expectations. 15/10.
