We( a group of 4) had breakfast on the patio last week. The problem we had was all of our food came out to our table COLD! Cold eggs. Pancakes, home fried potatoes etc. The pancakes were so cold the butter would not melt. Sad to see this happen to a good place to eat.
Wow, This place has some killer chili and great prices to boot. I strongly suggest checking this place out if you’re in the area. The service there is awesome and the women are cute. My buddy told me they had a secret menu so I asked the server to bring out the hillbilly Chili aka the Scottie special. It is huge, and sloppy but man it’s good. It was so good they are going to have to Get a restraining order to keep me away from that.
Food is excellent (B&G, eggs, pots, and chili omelette) the vibe is great, the staff are fun and friendly, and the location is perfect- have a nice stroll by the beach after your belly is full❤️
We stopped after our walk on the beach and had lunch out on the patio. Our plates were the Huevos Rancheros, Surfers Burrito with Charrizo, Chicken Ceasar Salad, a house salad and the Storm Island Combo with cole slaw all with a tasty Bloody Mary. All plates were of good portion and gave us a full belly. I would definitely like to go back next time I'm in the area. Our little group is from New Mexico and Washington state.
lets say food was ok. super nice service
It was an amazing breakfast on the beach!
I come from the city of Chino this restaurant is super friendly this time there was only 1 waitress, bless her heart. The gentleman whom said he was the dishwasher I didn't get his name kept checking on us to make sure we had what we needed. He was extremely sweet, I can't wait to come back

In the late 70s, my spouse and I were struggling students and would frequently visit the Charlie's Chili location in Costa Mesa, where we lived at the time. Unfortunately that location is no more. We always used a two-for-one coupon that we had clipped, we think, from the PennySaver, which is also no more. The decor here is pretty similar to that of the Costa Mesa branch. The restaurant is kind of a hole-in-the-wall with a big, outdoor seating area boasting killer views of the Pacific. Because it was the dead of winter (really cold!) we ate indoors. Well this time we had no coupons, and, aside from that, I found the prices rather high for breakfast food. My spouse had the chili cheese omelet, which we'd eaten plenty of times in the old days. It was pretty much as we remembered it. Since it was never my favorite, I had the steak and eggs, which were good but certainly not exceptionally so. I wished the "grilled" onions in my scrambled eggs were softer and the home fries were hotter, both of which could have been achieved by a little more time on the grill. The rib steak was a nice piece of meat that was slightly overdone. The service was okay. I'd give Charlie's Chili an overall score of 3.5, which incorporates the intangible nostalgia factor. I must say that a meal there is still a real experience, and we enjoyed being able to have that experience all these years later.
great service and great food
