Great outdoor patio and the service was excellent!

Overpriced and touristy
The environment of the restaurant was great. It is right on the water at Newport Beach. My complaint was the quality of the Fish and Chips that I ordered was awful; The fish smelled "fishy".
Our overall meal was fine, but the pasta with lobster wasn't well-prepared and unsatisfying. The lobster pieces were overcooked and tough to chew, I didn't like the texture of the noodles and the sauce was tasteless. I really like the Cannery and have always had a good dining experience, but this time, my meal was below this restaurant's normally high standards.

All the food was great except for the lobster elote. The lobster was way overdone and the dish was a little pricey for what it was. The martinis were the best. Nice generous pour. Felt we got our money's worth for those.
We came to celebrate 2 July birthdays and a very special Super Bowl Championship ring for my son. The reservation was changed several times and the staff from top to bottom made that process so simple and no complaints. So, the great experience started before we even arrived. Upon arrival, our party changed size again, and the staff handled it with ease and grace. The service from greeting to departing was incredible. I felt like a regular and haven't been to The Cannery in 8 years. Having been a waiter and bartender before, I have a great appreciation for excellence in service. The service was some of the best I have experienced in a long time. Thank you! The food was great too! The environment is so comfortable and casual, yet still classy. We will be back... in much less than 8 years this time. Probably within the week!
Went for my dad's 60th birthday dinner! It was lovely. Can't wait to go back.
Good Food. The crab cake appetizer and scallops resoto were very good.
