Was extremely disappointed for our anniversary dinner. Was seated at the worst possible table and received terrible service. An all around bad experience. Great to hear the 19 year olds fawning over the amazing California rolls while drinking their beers though.
Nothing. Bad service, bad attitude and an entitled, hypocrite owner that spend more time lashing at both customers and people giving her constructive criticism.
We enjoyed dining at Buddha's Favorite in early May while visiting our son in Newport Beach. Absolutely delicious sushi rolls & drinks! We loved the garlic edamame, gyoza, and spicy California rolls. Fun atmosphere right on the water and great service!
Not the greatest experience. My wife is vegan, we ordered vegetable gyoza but received chicken. She had eaten one already before we discovered the mix up.The sushi is mediocre, overpriced and disappointing in quality. Beware that the menus are not current on pricing. Gyoza mentioned above was listed at $5 and we were charged $7. Prices were higher on the bill than on the website for all of our rolls.
One of the better sushi restaurants I’ve had on the West Coast. Prices were a bit expensive, but the food tasted fresh. The close proximity to the water creates a pleasant overall eating experience.
A place recommended to us, and the execution was wonderful. The wasabi was creamy, ginger was fresh and crisp, the rolls are mostly enclosed in rice paper instead of seaweed (I don't mind seaweed, it's an acquired taste I have come to expect and enjoy, but this was different and better), and every roll had an umani quality where it just melted in your mouth. We all (3) loved this place, ordered 6 rolls and crushed 6 rolls - 48 pieces, ginger salad, and desserts, plus a special unlisted roll at the end of the night to-go. Atmosphere and service were excellent.
Literally just left this place 5 minutes ago, absolutely LOVED it best food and the absolute best service! My server was Paul and he was absolutely amazing! Amazing server! The sushi was phenomenal. It was a little bit of a wait but it is SOOOO worth it!!! Best staff and sushi hands down!!! Will be coming back soon!
Found this place on Sunday when my usual spot was closed. Location is right in the water with beautiful views of the docked boats. The sushi rolls were great and even better were the handrolls. Service was ok but could be improved. Our server seemed overwhelmed and did get our order wrong but was quick to correct it. Overall we had a good dinner and enjoyed the sushi.
0 stars…Heard good things about this place, but couldn’t have been more disappointed trying to eat here.We walk up to put in our name, and were told a 1 hour wait without reservation, which we were fine to wait for.We sit down outside, and then watch 5-6 employees come out to take multiple shots in the waiting area with someone waiting to get in. They barely looked 21 and couldn’t be more unprofessional and obvious with what they were doing. When we asked for a manager we were told one was not there tonight. Maybe that was the issue as the staff clearly can not be left on their own.
Locals spot, and there is a reason why its Buddha's Favorite! Delicious including the sake!
