I searched high and low all over Newport looking for great nachos. I found them at this location! Good location near the beach. Parking and crowd not an issue on a Sunday evening. The key to these nachos: Wet pinto beans about half way down the pile of homemade chips, and fajita style veggies on top. No cheap jar jalapeños either. Lots of cheese and carne asada. I almost polished them off, but I ate too many of their warm chips and salsa....which was also awesome....nice crunch and flavor. Wife had the cheese quesadilla which she likes. Service was good. Atmosphere was nothing super special, but they do have open windows which is a nice touch being near the beach. This was a very affordable place I will visit again if back in Newport. Have the nachos....they were GREAT!

Delicious food! I was here on Cinco de Mayo and the entire restaurant was a fun place to be. The food was great, the atmosphere was fun and the music had a good energy. I also have to say that I LOVED their guacamole. I'm extremely picky about guac, and most of the time I won't eat it because it's just not that great. Avila's, however, had fantastic guacamole, and I would eat it again anytime.

I have arrived to restaurant for a take out order only a soup. there was only 1 dine in table eating. I waited at the host stand where says ‘pick up order here’ for 10 minutes. Few servers passed by and they didnt greet or ask what do I need or Why I am standing there. A kitchen lady came out and she pointed out where they place pick up orders which is hidden behind the bar. When I asked for a manager he was having lunch and he didn’t bother to even listen my complaint. He kept eating and he said your order is there. When I ask his name he said grab my business card from the host desk. He said good luck when I told him that I will write an online review. How rude! His name Maribel Avila. Probably he is the son of the owner or relative. I live close to huntington beach location and eat there at all the time. But not after this experience.

The food was fine. If you are looking for a fun atmosphere, plenty of inside and outside seating, and friendly service, then this is a great place. If you are looking for more authentic mexican food, there are better choices. We had enchiladas, chile relleno, blackened mahi tacos, chicken fajitas, and the Fresco burrito with carne asada. All of it was decent except for the chile relleno, which was too heavily breaded and the flavor was off. The best was the carne asada burrito. Our server was very helpful.

I love this place above and beyond service, Angie always greet you with a big smile and a hug, the food is great and all employees very nice and hard working, highly recommend this restaurant it's a few steps from the beach.

Bad service...waiter who has beard and tattoo on his arm has attitude problems. When I asked some more more salsa he said wait!! He could said just ok ..and I ordered Pacifico draft he bought me ultra beer I told him I ordered Pacifico he told me they don't have it . I ordered another beer he just poured ultra on draft beer cup and brought it...really bad bad service and you make sure Bill that it's already included tips!!

We decided to go down near the beach and wanted Mexican food. I haven't been to this location in years, it wasn't crowded and we were greeted and sat right away. Casey was our server she was friendly and very pleasant. I ordered the grande tostada with carnitas, my hubby had the Mayan burrito. The food was great! We'll definitely be back especially when it's not crowded?

Super tasty food, and great service. We had Casey L (I think that was her name… at least it was on the receipt) and she was so nice and accommodating. There was a huge table of guests in front of us, so the kitchen was a little behind and she made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Would give a bonus star if I could!

Chips and salsa was great burrito was great and of course Avila's soup is what we really wanted! Loved it

We had to have quick lunch and the staff was very accommodating of our schedule. Jodi was our server and friendly, easy going and she gave us a great recommendation of where we could get our nails done as well. Open windows and a light breeze made this the perfect place for a delicious lunch.
