I'm a huge fan of Marriott Hotels and always make Marriott my first choice when seeking accommodation. In fact, I worked for Marrriot several years ago, so this is why I was super-disappointed with the maintenance of this property. While the room was standard and met expectations, and I can understand the lack of housekeeping staff and the challenges of working during the pandemic, the public areas need a lot of simple attention. 1). The hallways on each floor were dirty and didn't appear to have been vacuumed in weeks, 2) The Fire Extinguisher on the 3rd Floor was MISSING. Yes, missing the whole time we were there. 3) The garbage cans near the bistro and outside by the pool were overflowing with garbage as if they had not been emptied in days 4). The wood floors in the elevators appear not to have been mopped or cleaned in weeks. Yes...weeks. scuff marks, dirt, garbage. (Is this really a Marriott Hotel?) 5). The parking lot has a lot of loose garbage and general litter. 6) One of our rooms had a word green stain on the veiled curtain. Why didn't housekeeping catch this? Gross. 7) My Marriott Rewards account always requests "High Floor". So I was given a second floor room, with a view of the Garbage Area and dumpsters. Aren't these notes read when rooms are assigned? I know some rooms would need to have to look at this view, but at least make the area organized and somewhat cleaned, or put a roof on this area. This is not a nice thing to have to look out on when gazing out the windows.] 8). The Access to the Pool required a room key, but that wasn't working so people from next door's Residence Inn were coming over to use the pool at the Courtyard. Super, super crowded. If management is reading this review, I would suggest that you hire or designate someone to maintain the public areas. It is not a hard thing to have someone onsite to keep watch and make things look clean. impressions go a long way.

Took my first post Covid trip since March 2020. The Courtyard has a new manger (T.J. Ransom), and a number of new staff members. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate them about a 12. I found them to be Courteous, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The property was coming out of mothballs (It was closed for a while), but it was clean, good looking and in good shape. I was there on business, but there were a number of guests on holiday and, based upon my own experience and what I was told by other guests, I would highly recommend the place for anyone staying in the Bay Area. I don't know how to answer the questions about snack bar, convenience store and coffee shop. They have a Bistro that has drinks and food and they have a "pantry" that sells wine, beer, soda, water and snacks. It also has an exercise room, swimming pool, guest computers and printers.

Would you stay in a hotel that has no master key in house? I would certainly NOT! My mother in law fell in her room and we were put on another floor and were unable to get to her before 1 hour!!! The fire dept had to come to break down the door! A bit before the fire dept arrived this Guy shows up from home and magically unlocks the door! Courtyard Marriott you can count your blessings that my Mother in Law did not get hurt just a couple of bruises as you would have had a LAWSUIT on your hands Oh I contacted Marriott head office, they washed their hands saying each hotel is independently owned and operated i.e. we don’t care. The Manager offered some Marriott points to shut us up. Stay away!

The sweet lady checking me in this morning and the greatest gentleman checking me out. They always make it feel like my second home. Loved my driver too. So safe but hilarious! As a flight attendant they treat us like a part of their family. Monica

We stayed here and spending 3 days on 26 - 28 September 2019, perfect hotel and location for whom has a bussiness or even a couples trip. World class start up company like Facebook, Tesla, Amazon, etc. just arround the corners. Hotels like usual has Marriot Bonvoy standard, very secure and comfortable.

I really don’t know where to start. Checkin was fine and the front desk lady was kind. This review has nothing to do with the crew working there - more the condition and experience of the hotel. I’m aware that it’s during a pandemic, but that’s also why I think things like “cleaning” is especially important at this time (and always!). I stayed one night with my one-year old son. Room was smelly, had a super load air conditioner, sheets smelled so old and not fresh at all - and the carpet!! I don’t know how to describe it. Full of dirt (and my one year old likes to play on the floor with toys - so really not clean enough for him to do so). My son was playing around and suddenly I saw him putting something in his mouth - IT WAS A PILL FROM THE FLOOR!!! I researched and this pill is some kind of drug that party people take to get high. I was SO scared that he had found other pills and swallowed them already. Luckily he seemed to be acting “normal” the whole day but I was just really angry that a hotel room is not clean enough for my kid to play around in without me worrying about thing like this. He also found one of these “party light-up bracelets” and there was leftovers of confetti on the floor. There was old towels hanging on the bathroom door with color on - assuming it’s been used to clean the party leftovers, but I don’t really feel like having old towels hanging in my room from previous guests. Overall just a really bad experience!!! Will never stay here again unless they start taking cleaning of the rooms more serious. So disgusting - especially during a pandemic ??

These are difficult times, especially when it comes to the hospitality industry and I can say with great enthusiasm, my experience at the Marriott Newark Airport this morning exceeded my expectations. Seamus and Clarisse were welcoming, and professional, making me feel as if I was coming home to familiar and friendly faces. The hotel was encouraging social distancing with the staff and customers but even in these unusual times I felt well provided for by Clarisse and Seamus. Questions answered, coffee available in the lobby (as there are not coffee makers in the room) suggestions regarding temporary availability of food and amenities. The hotel was spotless and well appointed and the blazing fire in the fireplace lobby such a great tone setter, The hotel is convenient to the airport, if you are adventurous its walk-able from terminal c, but the van is always available as well. Start your trip off right by staying the night before your departure. You will not be disappointed.

Had a trip scheduled for several weeks, and was able to take advantage of the "stay and fly" program that allowed a couple of weeks of free parking. I am a Marriott titanium lifetime elite member....so I am very accustomed to the courtesy of Marriott employees....at all hotel levels. They are simply the best, and represent the brand very well. I particularly want to shout out to Millie and Nadirah at the front desk. They went way above and beyond the call of duty for my wife and me.They basically bent over backwards to accomodate the needs that my trip was going to entail. I just cant say enough about them....and wish them continued success in their careers with Marriott!!! I hope to see them again when I require Marrott's stay and fly services again from Newark Liberty airport!!!!

I can't remember, don't know if that is good or bad... Some of the hallways are dingy, drab and beat up. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed here because we had a really early flight out the next day from EWR Newark International Airport. We caught the first shuttle out in the morning, and barely had enough time to grab a cup of coffee and a muffin, but the driver waited the 3 minutes, which was very nice. We paid more for the room but they allowed parking for free in their lot for a few days as we flew off to the West Coast. It was a bit complicated finding the place for the first time, as they are surrounded by highways and roads and our GPS missed our exit so we had to make a big loop around to get back to the hotel. The staff was nice enough. We would do it again.

This restaurant is my preferred one. I go to a lot of restaurants but to this place I go the most. The crew is very professional and the cooking they serve is so yummy. I never decline to have a decent dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.
