Best Japanese and sushi restaurant in Newark for 4 consecutive years.
Visited here several times, rolls never fail me.
The food is decent but what makes this place standout is the service. They give you a free appetizer (today was edamame), and all the wait staff are always walking around checking on everyone, even those who are not your “designated” waiter. I ordered omakase and they apparently didn’t believe a single female could eat that much so they gave me kamikaze, but then removed it from the bill due to the misunderstanding (though it was funny because they kept confirming multiple times I truly wanted omakase, which is 40+ pieces of sashimi). The omakase is less chef’s selection and more comprehensive sampler, as it’s basically a couple pieces of every type of sashimi on a boat. Unlike other places that offer omakase, it’s a large quantity of food and comes with soup and salad as well so you definitely get full.Overall, it’s not the highest quality sushi but the service and value still make this place an excellent experience.
Nice Japanese restaurant ??The taste might be a little plain, but I think less salty is also healthier*free one serve miso soup and salad ?*no reservations services# 3 item Bento (Salmon teriyaki, Tempura, Sashimi 5pc)
Their food is always really good and this has turned into a go-to spot for me to get sushi. Their employees are always making sure you get attended and the food always tastes so good. You really can't go wrong with whatever you end up ordering, but I really like this place.
The sushi ? and rolls are great but teriyaki are grilled on the nasty grill and have a bit so good taste. I would not recommend teriyaki there.
Absolutely delicious! Great service, yummy food and beautiful atmosphere.Fun fact: If you want to hear paisa music, sit on the corner table near the fan, you can hear Spanish music through the door. We had a great time at our mini concert.Gracias por la comida y el buen ambiente. Mi respeto para los cocineros.
I order there amost every week. Food is great, but timing of orders isn't always followed. I usually order my food on doordash and select a window to pick it up, but it's hardly ready at the time I select - it's either earlier or later.
The pilly roll was soo good,i would definitely go again tomorrow with friends.thanks from the kind server.they were about to close the restaurant. but they act so professional in a good manner i like that.five star ? and with big thank you for that amazing team.
. First time experience. Ordered teriyaki chicken, tempura appetizer and sunomono. All dinners come with tea miso soup, and green salad. This was a Friday night and had absolutely outstanding service. Sunomono ($7) was a bit disappointing as shrimp was overcooked and had a chemical taste. Cucumbers were also a bit salty for my tastes. Other than that, the meal was superb and probably the best I have had locally in year and I have tried many in the area. Tempura was cooked to perfection and very light and crispy. Unlike the sunomona, the shrimp were excellent. It also was a generous amount, especially for the price. of ($10) I was simply blown away by the chicken teriyaki $18)i. It was a huge portion, enough for 2, and the chicken was cooked to perfection - tender juicy and not under or over cooked. The teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet, salty or spicy and did not overpower the flavor of the chicken. Even the rice was perfectly cooked. It was also delightful that unlike others that charge the price of a small box of green teabags for a single one, hot tea is complementary. The staff also seemed genuinely interested in my comments. Unlike all the others I have tried in the last two years, this is a place I will be recommending and returning to.
