We ordered the Kathiawadi thali and a Gujrati thali. They were both very similar except for the Bajra roti and a watery kadi in the Kathiawadi thali. Taste was very sub par — the okra was completely burnt and very very oily, for the 2 appetizers, there was a very tiny piece of Dhokla and something that you couldn’t chew — I haven’t eaten worse Dhokla ever — it was hard and completely tasteless. Unclear how one could mess up Dhokla this bad. And then the quantity of the undhiu and other dishes. For almost $20 per thali I expected much more quality — complete disappointment and feels right down exorbitant. The Thalis are definitely not worth the price. The 4+ star reviews are just completely unbelievable after our experience. There are many many more restaurants in the South Bay where you can find way better quality Gujrati food.

We went for a lunch on a friday and ordered Gujarati thali, Kathiawadi thali, mini thali and Punjabi thali. More or less, items were same in all of those.Taste: goodAmbience: decentHygiene: goodPrice: ~ $20 for each thali

Ordered Dhokla, Masala Kichadi n other items - it was stale and i threw up after eating it. Called the restaurant and was told - we get dhokla from outside in batches - it was from “yesterday or day before but it was good to eat”; for kichadi which is the gujrati everyday staple diet - i was told it too was from yesterday and we dont make everything fresh everyday. No hotel in bay area serves fresh and so they dont either! I told them i was pregnant and stale food is not what customers pay for irrespective of my personal situation. I was told - i should eat only at home if you are pregnant and asked why are you eating out. This was so shocking !! apart from the fact the serving stale food everyday is routine for these guys! So instead of acknowledging there mistake n correcting they are saying we will continue to serve stale food, compromise on the quality. I told them to mention this on their menu - which items are stale to which I was told, yes we will do that, you can do whatever you want!!

Food was tastier and fresh but the size of roti was just 5cm*5cm, even 3 year old kid can eat atleast 6 of these.I know due to inflation price of the items has Increased but didn’t expect the size to go down this drastic.

First time here and probably be my last. The food was cold when picked up a minute after being ready. Clearly not made to order and they did not even take the time to heat it up. I love Jalapeños but not in Indian food, thank you.

Bad food. Felt cheap quality and stale. For the quality, the price was too high. The undiyo was watery and beans were raw. It was the worst food I have ever ordered. Really disappointed.

This place was a pleasant discovery. I'm originally from Mumbai and used to Gujarati food available in Mumbai. This place is the closest to Mumbai Gujarati food I've eaten in past 30 years in the Bay Area. Before finding this place the only option was Milan Sweets in Milpitas but stopped going there since 2011 as their quality and taste has deteriorated. Had given up on Gujarati food till I found this place. Have been here 4 to 5 times now and the total 54 mile drive each time was worth it.

I ordered kathiyadi Thaali. And they provided Bhakari very bad quality, bitter test. Taste like 6 month old cooked. I doubt they give frozen Bhakari which you can buy in Indian grocery store. If it’s true then it unethical practice to provide old food instead of fresh. I went there by google receives

Never dined in, have only done takeout so far, but the place looks comfy. Good food, especially Gujarati - Undhiyu, but also other food

The best sweets and snacks place. I have not tried any curries though. However, the sweets they make are very very close to authentic gujarati sweets we get back in India. The owner and staff is very helpful and friendly.
