Food was good service was ok. They were out of white menudo. Kept forgetting water, coffee and cream. I would definitely recommend this place, just don't expect five star service. They don't really listen or pay attention when you ask them for things. This is a classic dive restaurant ugly and in disrepair, so don't expect nice glitzy decor. But the food is good and cheap.
We visited Sierra Cafe on Memorial Day, 2022. My wife and I were looking for breakfast at a restaurant with outside dinning. We found that place at La Sierra Cafe. The food was fresh and tasty. We ordered huevos a la mexicana for me and ham and eggs for my wife, plus 2 coffees. Prices were fair but service was not as good as we expected. Our food took longer to expected to arrive after we had to ask another waiter for our food because our waitress just disappeared. 4 stars for La Sierra Cafe. Maybe they can get 5 stars next time, if they improve service.
On Monday 04/11/22 my girlfriend and I order the most expensive breakfast ever that included two large bowls of watery menudo with pata on the site that looked like the pats was taking away from the dogs no meat just bone, the tortillas were cold and menudo nasty and we're charged $8.00 per pata? Wow! By the time we finish half of the menudo and two sodas our bill was $58.00 dlls plus a $ 4.00 tip my girlfriend left on the table before getting the check.LA Sierra Cafe needs lots of help in the kitchen and lower the price of their nasty menudo.
If you ask for large menudo plate they will give you the large plate but small mount of menudo, if you ask them to add more menudo to your plate they get mad at you and and they will say: it is what it is. I can count the little pieces of menudo they were 7 and was more water than menudo and corn. I never will recommend this place to anyone.
This place has a special meaning to me so I'm biased. What I can tell is that they were amazing as always. Excellent service and the bowl of red menudo took me back to the first time my Mom took us to this place back in 1984. And as we gathered all 20+of us they arranged & made space after being turned away from Don's it felt like coming home. The service was excellent and wish I had planned better to ensure a larger tip. Which leads to the only problem I found. They only take cash. But if you're looking for an awesome and the tastiest bowl ? of menudo with pata and friendly service I highly recommend this place.
Was looking for a place that serves menudo with the pata (foot). We're not from around here and we had to drive 20min south from old town. Man was it worth it, especially after partying all night in gas lamp
Service was great, the food was sufficient in quality and quantity. Out door dining and inside was for take out.
