Great sushi, ramen and atmosphere! Usually busy almost every night so you might have to wait but believe me when I say the wait is worth it! Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!
Hanaoka is always a treat to come to. The food is amazing and I recommend this place to dine in at and for cute dates. Hanaoka also has the best service and great prices.

After living in Japan for several years, I really missed the food. This restaurant is the closest place I found in SD that reminds me of my time in Japan. Love their sushi, as well as their service. Highly recommend!
Found my new favorite sushi restaurant! Fantastic customer service, we were immediately greeted and seated. The ambiance was nice with good music and a great environment. The sushi was delicious and FRESH! I had a tuna spicy mexican roll and a tropical mango roll. The rolls where big in size and quite affordable in comparison to other sushi restaurants I have been too. The tuna and salmon literally melted in my mouth... soooooo delicious! I usually order a hand roll but I didn't because it was too much food. I was stuffed with just two rolls! However, next time I will get a hand roll because they look delicious! I saw a server taking several hand rolls to a table near us and let me tell you, the hand rolls look HUGE. They are the biggest hands rolls I've ever seen! EVER! I would say double the common size. My hubby had chicken yakisoba and it didn't disappoint. Overall, super happy with our experience. Don't worry about parking because there is plenty at the plaza! 10/10 REALLY recommend!
Been here a couple times and both times had an amazing and incredible experience in terms of great tasting Japanese dishes and outstanding service. Very comfortable environment and has a great atmosphere, I can’t wait to come back to eat here again.
Did take out today. A large platter that was ready in 30 mins. The fish was amazing!! The salmon and tuna were fresh, buttery and melted in your mouth!
Hanaoka has been here for many years it's a must go to for Japanese food. The sake and beer here are always on a special price a much better deal than other places up north in convoy. They have the best champon I have tasted so far. This place is great for there sushi items.
Food was delicious and satisfying. Meals were large portions. Service was fast and nice. Very comfortable environment.
I have been going there since the early 90s and I love it! The crew is so helpful and friendly, the food is amazing and the prices are great!
