Had lunch at the El Pollo Loco in National City on Highland Ave. I had ordered a salad and the cashier asked which dressing I wanted, I said the avocado ranch. He said that dressing was an extra .54 cents. I asked why, and he said that's what they charge. After 5 minutes I get my order and I sit down. I go back to the counter and ask for cilantro, again he said they didn't know if he could and asked his manager. He comes back and said they don't give and out. I asked he why an asked the manager. He comes and says they don't give any out. What happened to good service the company used to have. Pretty sad it's coming to this. Poor service = not going back?☹️

Tried items from their birria menu. My daughter had the crispy tacos and I myself had a stuffed quesadilla along with some chips salsa and the broth that it comes with. The broth was not bad for being a fast food place. My daughter's tacos were lukewarm so that was kind of off-putting and my quesadilla could have been a little bit hotter as well. Other than that, I guess it was okay. It satiated our hunger and that was the main objective.
We usually like going to el Pollo loco for the delicious food, and it was good. Only problem Male cashier, wasn't paying attention, hardly spoke, got our order wrong, he didn't seem interested in his job because he would just stand there, not even welcome us. WE had to do most of the talking. Absolutely terrible customer service, unless you speak spanish to him. Terrible. The Food is great though so we easily can be forgiving. That male cashier really needs a lesson on customer service. Speaking well and being kind not just silent. I'd probably go through drive thru or not inside. Awful cashier.

I never used to go here until my cousin told me how delicious they were. I went for lunch and had the pollo bowl and haven't stopped going since. 11 years and counting. I love that they give healthy options and the menu changes almost every month to try something new... ❤️❤️❤️
Can't get enough of the chicken salad. It was as good as the other Pollo Loco. Very pleased. All the staff were very nice.
DONT EAT HERE. I was hospitalized due to food poisoning after eating there tacos. Nasty!!! 8 hours later I started to cramp, puke, diarrhea… if my hospital bill comes I’m going to have to sue for my money back!!!!!
Order was wrong every time i went back. 5 times incorrect order and for those Hispanics who dont speak Spanish be ready to try your best español porque no hablan ingles gracias. Thank you
The chiken was mostly burnt and they had hardly any meat the chiken leg was pure bone. Not satisfied at all I paid 12 dollars for the combo for me to get three dry and burnt prices ! Every single time I go through the drive thru I have to complain and ask for fresh pieces because if not they give me the the burnt and dry parts. It’s ridiculous I’m not satisfied at all and I’m very upset because it happens every single time that I forget to check my order right there before driving off and the worst part is that they get mad when you ask them to please replace those burnt pieces.
