Had a craving for shrimp! The house sauce with the #5 combo really hit the spot. Its 3lbs of seafood, kind crab, snow crab and you choice of crayfish, shrimp, classic or mussels, it also comes with corn, sausage and potatoes. I definitely had to share it with my fam and friends.
I got to seafood boil for our table. It was really good. The build of the space makes you feel like you are in an aquarium. Doesn't help if there's sharks up above your head the whole time.We got a spicy boil and my lips were feeling...Yeah they were all woken up. They give you gloves so you can peel your seafood; it's smart to use them if you got the spicy like I did. I rubbed my eye...Also wear the bibs. I squeezed the head off of shrimp and the juice sprayed all over my wife.
It's mediocre if you have been to any other cajun seafood boil restaurant. Flavor is not great. Way too expensive per lb. Typical San Diego.
My bill was $126 + $10 tip. Although my order was incorrect. Gave Andy our waiter.. $100 in cash and $36 on my debit card. Something told me to check my account. Andy had put the whole $136 on my debit card. When confronted.. I was told it take 2 or 3 business days for a refund. I insisted he give me the $100 cash back. After initially hesitating and others (party of 7) began insisting as well. He finally gave it back to me. Had I not caught it. I would not have any recourse. As my receipt didn't reflect giving him $100 in cash. Attempted theft of $100 by Andy isn't cool... never again !!!!
We had Combo#5. Seasoning was amazing! It wasn’t too salty, just enough. The proportions are a little small for the price so I can say it’s a little pricey. Customer Service was great tho, they checked on us and everyone else probably about 5 times lol (we were there for about an hour).
Service was slow, and workers aren't attentive. Went there friday night and there was only one worker at the bottom actually working and cleaning tables and bringing drinks. Other workers seemed to have a blast standing at the top laughing. My boyfriend went in shortly after and had a disagreement with the manager, and he was arguing with him. Rude and food was mid.
The soup was ok. Only four shrimp and I paid $14.00 for a basket of fries. the only thing good, was the people were nice and our waitress was nice and did her job well.
The food was good. A bit more expensive than others though.
Great quality. A bit informal
If you love that "Old bay" seafood seasoning, garlic & butter, then this is the place for you. I split a pound of headless shrimp w my daughter, delicious w a side of rice (covered in some of the juice from the bag (yes, the food comes in a plastic bag). We asked for 1/2 medium spice level & that was enough. Huge beer menu too. Come to Plaza Bonita to shop & enjoy some delicious seafood.
