Trefethen was amazing! Historical building, great wine. Sam was our expert that we got to chat w during our tasting and he had so much knowledge and also made us laugh. It’s our first time in napa and he made us feel right at home. We chose the essentials flight and small lot and enjoyed both.
On this, our first trip to Napa, there were wineries we expected to enjoy when we visited and wines we expected to love. But none were as much a happy surprise as Trefethen. My wife’s comment sums it up nicely: “Wow, I love EVERY one of these wines!” Not only were the wines wonderful, but the experience (@The Villa) was beautiful and extremely enjoyable, thanks in no small part to our host Gregg (Thanks Gregg!).We were celebrating our 30th anniversary with this trip and Trefethen treated us very well. Beautiful grounds, great wines, great pours (with some off-menu - Halo!), great service and a lovely paired charcuterie board. And to top it off, Trefethen has some of the most affordable pricing on their bottles - even better with member pricing. I’m sure we’ll always have some bottles on hand now.Make Trefethen a stop on your Napa visit!

Educators provide memberships a wonderful experience - I have tasted outdoors (during covid) and indoors (April 2022). Definitely prefer indoors since the tasting room is beautiful and comfortable. Members are not jailed to tasting a selection but rather can tell the educator what he/she would like to taste. Purchased way too many bottles this way!
What a great experience! We’re not foodies or wine experts by any means, we just wanted to have a taste of some wines and get some knowledge of what goes on. We were looked after by Joe, right from the off we felt at ease and very welcome. The selections and generous samples were perfect. So if you’re after an informal and relaxed introduction into wines then this is perfect and highly recommended.
Great winery...not crowded and very personal tasting. They will go above and beyond to make your tasting special. Wine is great...you will have a hard time deciding what to buy...want to buy everything.
Great wine tasting experience! I don’t know much about wine, but Nick was excellent at answering our questions and taking care of us that afternoon. The wine was delicious and the history of the vineyard was amazing to hear!
Really great wine, the estate pinot noir and the Quandry were our favourites, got a bottle each. Most notably, our server’s knowledge of wine and the region was thorough, informative and helpful. Puppy enjoyed it too — very dog friendly :)
Josh was the perfect host for am amazing tasting. He graciously told us about the rich history of this beautiful and very special winery and we appreciate how he helped kick off our anniversary celebration. Every tasting was delicious and perfectly delivered. Thank you, Josh and Trefethen!
