After wine tastings at Pine Ridge, Peju, and Judd’s Hill, we enjoyed Pine Ridge the most. Disclaimer we’re more novice wine drinkers. At Pine Ridge, the server was attentive, educated us on the flavors of the wines, and friendly. She gave us tasty breadsticks and almonds to accompany the wine. As well, the server was more down to earth and knowledgeable which fit our vibe. She explained tannins from a chemistry side, how they feel in your mouth, and how they’re strategically used in wine (to balance the wine). The wines are complex; they smell unique and the tastes are rich. We didn’t buy any bottles of wine cause they’re a bit pricey, but if I had to do a classier wine tasting experience, this is the one I’d do.
Unfortunately the lady who welcomed us was rude, when we asked about discounts for the Sommeliers belonging to our Italian association, AS SUGGESTED BY the Napa Valley Welcome Center, she has made us feel unconfortable, as we wanted to steal something but we only asked info about! When I made the reservation there was a checkbox saying "birthday" which I marked expecting some sort of surprise. Nothing at all was done, apparently because the birthday was the day before, but the day before me and my husband were travelling all day for this reason I wanted to celebrate it that day with a surprise. So disapointing! What about the wine? Their prime 250$ wine is as good as an Italian 30€ bottle. I guess it's because of the strong marketing behind their ordinary products. It has been a very bad day! Thank you for a very bad experience! ?
For those who love full-bodied yet fruity Cabernets, this winery is for you! What an amazing experience! My mom and I had never been before and loved the winery! The cave is so cool and tasting area/ room in the cave was great. Only down side was no food (nuts and cruMcGuire bread sticks). Shout out to Melissa who was so knowledgeable about their wines, the process and Napa Valley in general. Highly recommend!
Amazing cave styled winery with amazing full body wines! We were taken care by Troy and he was exceptional in service.
I had a great time wine tasting. I enjoyed seeing the vine
It was my first vineyard experience and I had a great time, the staff were great as well. Definitely recommend this place
Long a favorite when Gary Andrus was the winemaker, they have changed since then but still offer quality and value. An Andrus homage is in the current tasting. The Napa valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a little fat up front but a decent value and balanced palate. Andrus homage, Stag’s Leap and Fortis - all different and complex expressive blends are top end to compare across the valley. The Malbec and an especially tasty and smooth Tessitura (an IGT Toscana style) are notable. My only nit is that the winery was very crowded for COVID times.
Such an educational and fun tasting experience. Excellent wines!
An unforgettable experience. Everything perfect, the wine, the atmosphere, the treatment, the acquaintance of the girl who attended us. My sincere respect to that crew, I believe that anyone visiting Napa should take a moment and visit. it was an unforgettable experience. Thanks a lot
High quality wines with a focus on reds and especially cabernet sauvignon. If your visiting, try to book a cave tour which has a great guest room where you can relax and enjoy your tasting
