BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK IN NAPA! Great locals bar! Great selection of canned beers at reasonable prices and killer service. Great food and COCKTAILS COMING SOON! If their cocktail menu is anything like the rest of the menu and selection, we're in for a damned TREAT!The lady and I have only just moved to Napa, and quickly Fox and The Ox has become one of our favorite places in town. We started coming for Trivia (which sadly I can no longer make due to other work commitments) and have steadily been coming back once a week or so ever since.Napa can be a strange place, but Ox and The Fox has been super welcoming and I always feel at home when I am there!
Good beer and wine selections, but the place just feels like it's not quite done yet, or just lacks a cohesive theme other than "wood." It looks like it would be more sporty than it is; there's one TV up on the wall (but it wasn't on). There's also some hunting-y looking stuff, but only like 2-3 things in a rather large space. Lots of wood and corrugated metal. Just felt a little confusing.Overall the food was okay - we had quite a bit of it:Highlights: Deviled eggs (2x) potato fritters (2x) ribs (2x) - all were flavorful and tasty. Chips w/ the tuna tartare were also good. Prices are very reasonable and great for the area!Lowlights: Tuna tartare & burrata - both just seemed to lack any seasoning/flavor. Wasn't a big fan. The OX panini; the flavors were good here, but the brisket was kind of rubbery and chewy. Hard to bite through so the first bite of the sandwich just pulls the whole piece out.Staff was fairly attentive, but I think we had like 7 different servers.
It's not a Spanish tapas bar but a bar with lovely snacks. Snacks and sandwiches were pretty yummy.
Our party of five started at the bar area to watch a football game, then moved to the family style table. I sampled the tuna tartar (really fresh!), the charcuterie board (serious tastes ~ the walnuts taste like they had just been roasted), and the amazingly meaty olives. We did also sample the delicious gooey centered molten flourless chocolate cake paired with heavy whipping cream. The mood lighting reminds me of great memories flying aboard Sir Richard Brandon’s Virgin America planes!Great service, great food, and a great place for great memories!
My favorite spot to start and end the night at! Amazing small bites and a large wine, beer and cider menu. The staff is always attentive and the atmosphere brings everyone together. Ox and the Fox is a must stop when your out on the town!
Amazing place, amazing staff, delicious food and the wine selection was perfect. We added a few beers to top it off. Great place for locals and visitors! Welcoming environment, we’ll definitely be back!!
Ask for T. He’s the one who looks like The Rock. He’s such a great ‘tender and good conversation.Definitely try the Ox and the cheese place. The charcuterie board is also LEGIT.We stopped in one Sunday evening and the place was not super busy. We were able to learn the place is getting their liquor license any day - so they have beer and wine currently but will be fully stocked any day. I am so glad we found this location.100% good eat and great service!!!
Just got back from a girls weekend with my long time High School friends and we frequented this pub a few times during our stay in Napa. Met the owner and his wife ( great people) and had amazing food!! All hot sandwiches were so delicious ? great food menu with a full bar. Definitely recommend
This place is just a dream come true for downtown Napa. We needed a casual bar with a great scene and good bites and this place just checks every box. Sandwich shop by day turned bar at night, the food is just amazing and the decor is comfortable and a good portion of it is built by the owner himself. The wood work is amazing and we just love that it’s locally owned and an awesome place to hang out. It’s great place for tourists and locals alike!
I stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon while walk through downtown Napa with my husband. We were able to get a seat pretty easily outside and our waiter came over quickly. I liked how they had a lot of small plates at reasonable prices and the food quality that we received. They also had a very large wine menu. The olives and spinach artichoke dip were good and the seating outside was pleasant. Our waiter checked in on us and was nice. Overall I'd recommend a stop in.
