The driest/toughest ribs I've ever had. I would assume they are reheated or at least under a hot lamp to get so tuff and dry. Drenched in bbq sauce (didn't help). The Mac & cheese was mushy but still edible. Potato salad was definitely different. Kool-Aid was good. They forgot my banana pudding (which tasted great) so i went back for it. Tipped $6 when placing order just assuming with a name like Slap yo mama, and the price, it would be delicious. Not worth $42. I will never go back
If I could give negative stars I would for a place with such an iconic name you would expect food that is so good that makes you want to slap your mama. The only thing this makes me want to slap is myself for spending money here. So the positive things about this restaurant is the barbecue sauce in the mac & cheese that’s it they fed me old ribs that were completely chewy that you could barely swallow the chicken strips are pre-frozen from the store the french fries are soggy the rice and gravy is mush with no flavor the chicken wings was gross a lot of fat on them the wait time was way too long and then to top it off they are kind of stingy we asked for barbecue for all of our food and they only give us two for all the plates we ordered six plates and we got two sides of barbecue only. If I could save my money back I really would but as I am typing this just to let you know I do feel sick to my stomach.
I'm from Jackson, Mississippi and the good here tasted just like the old fish fry's we used to have back home. Next time I go back I'm ordering party platters of everything.

Omg their food is so good and there is a good family that run a business God bless them. To get everything on the menu I would hurry and order in the morning and online because they sell out everyday that's how good their food is

Very good. Had wings n ordered sides (Greens. Yams, Potatoe salad n Mac. All delish. Wanted the Ox Tails, but gotta work tonight n knew Itis would kick in...So 5 stars have to wait until I Try the Ox Tails!
I ordered the oxtail plate with collard greens and yams. Everything was delicious. My only disappointment was that I did not get my corn bread that was supposed to come with the meal.
Had beef oxtail. With gravy. Great tasting food.
Excellent food.I’ve only tried the Chicken Wings, fish, ox tails, rice/gravy, sweet potato pie…which were all excellent. Excellent customer service. I highly recommend this place.Best Soul food in this area!
