The FoodI've been to the San Francisco Udon Mugizo, so wanted to give the one in Mountain View a try. The first time I ordered their Tonkotsu Udon Deluxe and it was good, but I wanted to try something different. I got the Mugizo Signature Udon, the Salmon Spinach Cream Sauce Udon. It has spinach cream sauce topped with raw smoked salmon, along with other toppings. The noodles were just cooked right, and the smoked salmon was a nice topping. The dish was pretty good. We also go to the Tempura Gyoza, which is what its name suggests, gyoza tempura style. I Want to come back again to try their Nabeyaki Udon, they seem interesting. The MiscellaneousThe Udon Mugizo restaurant is on one of the main streets. There are street parking and parking lots around, but it does get pretty packed during peak hour. The restaurant currently has both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior has a decent amount of seating, with a simple vibe to it. Their service was not bad, the food arrived in a reasonable time. They have a variety of dishes on their menu. Aside from appetizers, they have different types of udon. From their signature udon to tonkotsu, to nabeyaki, along with warm and cold udon. They are slightly on the pricey side, but they do have good quality. It is worth a try if you want some good udon.

Disappointing. Food is mediocre for the price. Service at this location is non-existent.Had the Katsu Curry Udon. The udon was ok, less chewy than the kind you get at grocery stores and had a little bit more substance and noodle to them. The curry was disappointing and tasted more bland than the golden curry mix you can find everywhere. The katsu was all fat and no meat so that was just confusing. The sides were what you would expect out of takoyaki and corn tempura. The servers here were confused throughout the night. The location felt understaffed and it seemed like everyone was scrambling around to provide service. Perhaps I was just unlucky this night and your mileage may vary.

This is one of my favorite places to take people in downtown MV. I always get the Tempura Zara Udon since I feel like the cold noodles really lets me feel their bounciness. The tempura that comes with it is also always so on point. Their specialty items are also very good and unique. Their katsu curry is also a very solid pick. Couldn’t recommend enough. Service is always great and very quick. Eating inside or outdoors is always a pleasure.

Food was great, customer service not so much. Came here for dinner and we sat outdoors after confirming they had a heat lamp. The employees had some difficulty figuring out how to turn the heat lamp on which I had no problem with, but it was the fact that we had to keep asking and kept getting the same reply that someone else will come and take a look. Eventually we stopped asking and nobody came to check on us so we froze the rest of dinner. Our server, after getting the check, did apologize without us having to mention it and I understand they were busy, but I really wish they just said they couldn't figure it out earlier on so that we could've switched to indoor seating... Aside from that, the udon was really great!

We tried Tonkotsu Udon, beef sukiyaki nabeyaki udon and tempura curry udon, all tasted good! Also recommend the corn tempura. The only downside is the meat portion is not very large. We arrived at ~11:40am on a weekend, there were plenty of seats. It's full around noon. So you can arrive earlier to avoid the line.

friendly service and tasty food

superb service, seating is nice both inside and outside, and menu was a good mix of classic udon to something more fun like their creamy udon! i also liked their ordering system where you can see each person’s individual order and split the payment accordingly as well— super convenient and would definitely come again

The uni and spicy niku, along with corn fritters. Udon itself was not very chewy or soft, a bit on the stiffer side compared to other places that specialize. The cream sauce was not overwhelming, but there was literally one piece of uni. The spicy niku was a cold udon, it was decent but not very spicy. Corn fritters were alright, will probably skip next time. Good service.

Super delicious place for udon! I think this is the best udon I’ve had. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The waitress was really nice and attentive. They have a udon making machine in the window front.

I ordered nabeyaki udon and it is just alright. The soup is slightly over salty, but the shrimp tempura is well made. Their selling point should be the fresh made udon which if you are a big carb eater, this will be satisfying. I had a 2-hour bike ride and came straight to here, but only able to finish 2-third of the udon bowl. The serving bowl is cold, I was expecting they cook on an iron bowl and serve right in it, rather than pouring from another pot over to a cold serve hard plastic bowl. With tax and tips, just this bowl costs over $21; quite expensive for a under-normal bowl of nabeyaki udon.
