It was good. A little thin on the protein options and the amount you get. But it was tasty and fun. There was lots of Boba tea options and what I got was really good too.
A great little poke bar, tucked away inside Ava's grocery store. They have build your own options, as well as about 5 house made options. I always go for the firecracker, can't go wrong!
This place used to be amazing. I think they've changed the owners or management of the vendor, but since the quality of ingredients isn't what it used to be. The tuna, scallops and salmon aren't as fresh tasting as before. We still go back from time to time wishing it's the same as before but it's consistently not as good. Shame really.
Probably the best Poke I've had in the Bay Area, which is surprising given how it's in a little corner of some supermarket in Mountain View.I ordered a large (three scoops of albacore, tuna, and octopus). The fish didn't taste frozen or at least was prepared really well. The extra ingredients were quality too. I added mostly everything (jalapenos, mangos, masago, etc.) and everything complemented each other real well, as is poke wont to do.The house sauce was not available but I improvised with ponzu and sweet chili and the combination was sublime.ここの食べ物は本当に美味しいです。The food here is really delicious. It's a little bit pricey for poke but having visited sub par poke joints before I think it's forgiveable.I love the area too where you can casually sit and bask in the Mountain View sun, great little stop for my lunch on a Wednesday. Nice to grab a drink at the supermarket (unfortunately cannot consume the alcohol you buy here though).Note to the owners: Please ensure that no riffraff loiter in your toilets. Some dude who just slipped from the alley out back took way to much time in there. Thanks ?
Surprisingly delicious - simple, fresh high qualify ingredients, easy on the sauces. Not sure about the tuna but salmon was fresh and yummy. The shop’s organic produce is worth checking out (esp when Wholefoods fails on you).Portions need work on adjusting up when ordering larger sizes. Wasn’t close to filling the large size container.
You can order online or in store. Takeout only. Always fresh, high quality, tasty!
The two Hispanic girls behind the counter constantly talk to each other, even when serving customers. I’ve seen one of them there for a while and she was fine until the newer one started working there. Reading some of these reviews, I think something needs to be done about these girls. I’ve also pulled long hair out of my food as well. This place used to be the best. Quality of service has really declined.
Nearly every night I’ve come here, which has been quite a few, I don’t see anyone on the counter but I hear chit-chat behind the curtains. The one I constantly see is Cristal. I’ve seen people wait upwards of 5 minutes at the counter because no one goes to check if there is a line. Absolutely ridiculous. This needs to be dealt with in a severe manner because this has been going on for weeks and I’ve complained several times. The food however, is nice and light. That’s the only good thing I can say about this place.
Poke Bar is conveniently located on Castro Street inside of a supermarket. On any given day, you’ll find people passing through to pick up their online orders, but they’ll gladly take your order in person too.For Mountain View standards, the poke is pretty solid, but not amazing. The portion size is good, the toppings are generously sprinkled on, and most importantly, the fish tastes fresh.Poke Bar also periodically puts out new items, which is a nice touch. My only complaint is that I wish they didn’t use the paper boxes (I mean, if it’s more sustainable I guess that’s okay), because it causes the rice to stick to the box, which is frustrating and potentially wasteful.
