This place is my favorite! I've been to almost all the ramen places on Castro and this is by far the best (especially for the price!) I come here all the time with my friends, their shoyu and veggie curry ramen are my favorites. The vibe of the restaurant is great, everyone is super nice, and I really love the outdoor seating. This place is a 10/10 in my books, I recommend it to all my friends. :)
This place is really sad. It has definitely gone downhill like many other restaurants during Covid.During the summer, it used to have hiyashi chuka, but it is missing this year so far. They used to have negitoro in Combo C, but guess that, it's gone! The price is cheaper than other ramen places, that's why I give 3 stars- a place to save wallet during inflation times.
We used to drive down here from San Francisco to eat. Fresh made noodles, tuna don which was finely diced Albacore, sushi rice, green onion, ginger, wasabi, and finely slivered seaweed. There used to be a wait-list and it was always packed. We haven't been here in a couple/few years and when we were able to walk in and have tables to pick from, that seemed odd. Then the fact that spring rolls were on the menu was a clue, there was a major change.Tuna don had regressed into basic sliced carbon dioxide treated tuna, and just a soulless bowl. Ramen had a jumbo serving of bean sprouts as if to distract. I don't want to continue, I'll just end with a farewell to Maru Ichi, we had great times over the years but now we must go our separate ways. Farewell and good luck.
Always the best of the noodle ? in the bay areaNothing fancy. The place is someone looking for comfort foodJapanese noodle shop , just like in Japan
The ramen was ok not Japanese style at all the service was very good and the ambient very similar to Tokyo. Don’t recommend it if you want to try a excellent ramen.
Great family owned Ramen shop. The ever popular black garlic tonkotsu Ramen is a must order. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive.
Super tasty ramen with flavorful broth and great pork belly. They have very generous portions for the chicken kaarage which is cooked well (crispy and juicy).
Great ramen. Portion is very generous for the price. It includes basic topping like charsiu and beansprout. The tonkotsu ramen include earwood mushroom If am not mistaken. You can order combo which can include gyoza and california roll.Interestingly the soup is not as salty as other ramen house which is goodOne thing I wis is the broth to be hotter. It was warm when we have it after a min or two.
This spot is so good. It’s a priority stop every time I’m in Mountain View. Huge delicious bowls of ramen, great Japanese setting, perfect service; 10 stars
Very delicious, last time I had ramen this delicious was when I had an overnight stop through Japan. Sat inside and enjoyed the laid back feel. Must come back again with my family so they can try it, too.
