Paying extra for a chips/salsa refill is kind of sad, but the Mexican food is very good here.Los Portales is solid Mexican food in the area. They are inexpensive compared to other food options in the area. I’ve tried the Los Portales Super Burrito and Margarita. The wet-style burrito was delicious and filling— yes, loaded with meat. The sauce seemed tomato-based and had a slight kick of spice. The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose. I was happy with the burrito and margarita. There is one complimentary basket of chips and salsa. The downside is having to pay for a refill of chips! They are family oriented and the service is great. Parking is very easy in the lot as it’s in a nearly abandoned plaza.
5 for lunch--- all for hot entree plates.first 2 came out and the food was VERY hot. Then the next plate came out okay. Then 2 Burrito's came out and the food was NOTvery warm. I wonder if the kitchen is using amicrowave, to heat the plated food, but theyalso want to serve everyone nearly together, and that is the source of the heating problem.stan
Service was good. This was my first time in the restaurant.
Delicious burrito here. First time in and would definitely order here again.
I always pay this place a visit every time I travel to Mountain View--always finding the food to be quite excellent. There are several other Mexican establishments in the town, and perhaps I'll get around to trying some of them one day, but to date, this one is so good I've not felt the need to explore the other places.
Los Portales dishes out fresh, authentic Mexican food in a low-key atmosphere. The staff, and owner Sal, are super friendly and always welcoming!
Very friendly stopped in before a concert. The food was good, quick and fresh
The burrito Ramons Favorite is just the best. I love the food.
Always get great service & delicious food !
Excellent Mexican food only a few blocks off of Hwy-85/101 in a small strip mall on Moffet Blvd. The wait staff was so friendly. The chips & salsa were excellent, albeit the bowls are a little too small for the size of the chips. The salsa is nice & spicy. The chili rellenos are slightly different than most. Instead of being "battered" in egg, they are rolled up in egg like an omelet. Excellent flavors and sauce. Salsa verde enchiladas were superb, as were the rice & beans. We will be back.
