Doesn't look like much from the outside or the inside for that matter BUT THE ICE CREAM IS THE BOMB!!! Very authentic with a "grandma's secret recipe" taste and you can easily tell the difference from chain ice cream/store bought from this ice cream. Very unique flavors that you won't find anywhere else that will surprise you with a fresh Mexican traditional twist. Looks can be deceiving but this is a poster child for the saying "Never judge a book by its cover"
Great place for ice cream they have a huge variety. Ice cream is made there fresh & they have lots of Mexican flavor popcicles too.The staff is very friendly, their prices are great & their portions are big. Rocky Road & Gansito are my favorite ice cream too much to choose from!It's yummy yummy!

We are new to Morgan Hill and was told about La Playa by a friend. WOW! We are in love! I'm embarrassed to say that we go a minimum of twice a week. Owned by a darling Mexican family, they make all their ice cream and popsicles in house! Grandma's recipes! Best ice cream as well as best popsicles I have ever had. They have both milk based and dairy free options, and you can not tell a difference. Go support this cute business, you won't be sorry!

if you are looking for ice cream, Look no farther. We discovered “La Playa” down town Morgan Hill. This is now our all time favorite place to go. I ordered the Fruits and Cream, my husband had Strawberry Cheesecake, I went back and had a Marzipan Ice-pop. Absolutely worth a visit if you are looking for ice cream or dairy free fruit popsicles!
