Order a small deep dish pizza, it is enough for four normal appetites or two huge ones. Fully traditional with slabs of cheese and a crunchy crust.
Hubby and I ate dinner there. I ordered the chicken sorentino. It's cheesy, saucy and great flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive. Oh and I had the best raspberry tea.Can't wait to go back! Wish I had taken a picture.
Eating here reminded me of that part in Disney's Ratatouille, where the food critic eats Remy's (the mouse chef) dish and is taken back to his childhood. I'm not Italian but the authentic flavor and way everything was cooked is home-style and the serving size is huge!The food comes out steaming hot but the stuffed pizza is too good to wait for it to cool down.Tried out late in a Saturday night with family. They were slow but still gave excellent service and we did not feel rushed.
We have been going to the Chicago pasta house for about 4 years. We love their pizza. Ever since the Pandemic their service is terrible. This is the second time we called ahead for the pizza to be ready when we got there. They told us there would be a table ready in 30 minutes. We agreed to the time and when we got there they told us w had to go on their waiting list for a table. They offered to keep the pizza warm while we waited. We decided to take the pizza with us. They told us the pizza wasn't ready and we could come back and get it in ten minutes. They say that it takes 30 minutes to cook the pizza so 10 minutes meant it was already cooking or cooked. When we got it we started to eat it in the car in their parking lot because it sweats in the box and it is not as good which is why we wanted to eat it there. To our disappointment the pizza was probably reheated or had been sitting because it was not hot like usual. If they don't want to take reservation for eat in customers they shouldn't promise a table in a specific amount of time. If they wanted us to pay at the time we called in the order to hold our place we would have. They had their whole outside patio dining area closed and people waiting in their cars to come in or carry out. They do not respect the patronage of their cliental or they would have everything open and wouldn't be turning people away. We drive more than 30 minutes to go and eat there we don't expect to be treated like our business doesn't matter to them. Even if they were short staffed if they had everything open and explained to the customers they were short staffed and they would do their best to wait on everyone, you would feel like they cared you were a loyal customer. We will not be going back.
If you have never tried deep dish pizza, I highly recommend this place.The pizza is HUGE. The Chicago stuffed pizza in the picture is a medium size, and my friend and I were stuffed. Also, the pizza was delicious. It was cheesy, gooey, and tasty. I would definitely come again!
Ordered a Valentines dinner tonight 2/14/22. Our to go order had no utensils, no salad dressing (we asked for it), the breaded mushrooms wasn’t fresh or crisp and looked & tasted like it was sitting out for a bit, the bread rolls were hard, and lastly the main dishes (veal and a shrimp pasta) food was just mediocre. We can’t eat it, what a waste! On a positive, my cannoli is good, but still a waste of $90.
Our family has been eating here for 30+ years and every meal has been fantastic!
Came here on a Friday with a big group of friends and this place.... they were out of beers. eggplants and few other things. Which worried me deeply about this place...I was so scared.... but then the food came... and they totally redeemed them selfs. it was amazing! Or service was great! but enough about us.. our server was awesome as well.
Service was lacking, we called in to place an order. We three times and ended up driving to place a simple order. So when we got there, there was hardly anyone in the dining area, and they told us they were so busy! It was a crock of BS! Then our pizza took over 45 minutes. Thankfully it tasted good...
Food was great. I had the Stuffed Pasta Shells. Service was also great.
