Great cafe. We went for Friday brunch around 11 am and there was about a 20-25 minute wait, which was pretty quick compared to the other restaurants nearby. We were seated at a quiet patio table with a great ocean view.Service was excellent: friendly & prompt! We ordered the Cinnamon bun pancakes with sides of bacon and sausage. It was amazing and the pancakes were so fluffy ? I also tried the Guava Bellini which was delicious. I glanced at the other tables around us and their food looked fantastic as well. I have found my little spot to come to when I'm in town. If you're wondering where to go for breakfast or brunch, this is it!

It was so good and the waiters were very sweet. The food came fast, and it was the best food ever… I really recommend this place.

When I ran past it on Saturday there was already a long line of people waiting for brunch so I resolved to finish my run earlier on Sunday so that I could stop and treat myself there afterwards. Service was lovely and friendly and I had a great mocha and greek yogurt with granola and berries and honey. Everything was very fresh and the building and view are beautiful.

Really good breakfast - we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. Service was super friendly and fast - right up and until we needed the bill - it’s ok we just sat and enjoyed the view a bit longer.

The food was excellent with huge portions. Our server Kayla was great, constantly refilling our coffee. We were seated immediately but my only complaint was that are food took about 30 mins to come out.

Best brunch I’ve had in a long time. Classic American dishes with a Mexican twist. Their list of Benedict’s is extensive. Bloody Mary was strong and spicy, just the way I like it! We got the pancakes shown as a starter and they were DEVINE! But definitely not necessary as none of us finished our main courses ? if I came back to the area, this would definitely be a “can’t miss”

If you are very hungry and about to pass out, this is not the place to be. Otherwise you should definitely try this place. To be fair, we were there on a long holiday weekend so lots of tourists. We waited 30-40 min for a table and then another 10 min before the waiter took our order. Another 30min for food. They seemed to have enough people working in terms of wait staff so I am thinking kitchen is the bottle neck. But the food was so so so good. It was piping hot. We had gourmet quesadilla and Irish eggs benedict and you can taste the freshness. We were eyeing the table next to us and they had pancakes and sandwiches, everything looked awesome and BIG. If you have small appetite, definitely share because most of the dishes are crazy big. I saw plates that had 1/2 of the sandwiches untouched. Definitely a place for comfort foods. Well worth the wait. Plan ahead and put your name on the list, go do some shopping at Cannery Row and then come back for food--it is perfect!

Could use more vegan options. The bun on the vegetarian chipotle black bean burger is really well cooked ?! The patty leaves flavors to be desired. I think it could use more veggie variety or extra seasonings. There's a spicy taste to it but not over the top and this is coming from someone with low spice tolerance. The fries are also tasty ?! Overall good service!

Fantastic brunch …. My wife had classic eggs Benedict and “they were perfect! The sauce was amazing, crazy good!.” I had the crab cake Benedict with add on avocado. Absolutely delicious. The crab cake was tasty and perfect. The recommended add of avocado was a nice contrast with that crispy crab cake and luscious hollandaise sauce. We also had a side of blueberry pancakes! It was the one meal before dinner. By the way the environment is cute and well decorated, spacious indoor and out. With lovely music streamed throughout.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on a recent trip to Monterey. The Wave Street Cafe is a cute little place very close to The Monterey Plaza Hotel. They have indoor and patio dining. Our waitress, Kayla, was friendly and efficient ! I had the chilaquiles with chorizo ….the best I have ever had anywhere. My husband had the pineapple Benedict….also yummy. We will go back there in future trips to Monterey and highly recommend this little gem!
