Lalla has a wonderful view of the bay with plenty of sunshine and light streaming in theough the floor to ceiling windows. The vibe tries to be 1950s steak house but missed due to the lack of uniforms and crisp decor. The food was decent and the tables were ok in size. I will say the place struck me as a bit wobbly and made me wonder if it might be structurally unsound.
We got a table facing the ocean and the views were spectacular. The vegetarian tacos were delicious and the pomegranate breeze cocktail was amazing. We had a great time here!
Cute atmosphere with a pretty view. I ordered a Paloma and Carne asada street tacos and my niece ordered the clam linguine. The tacos were very average and there was an avocado crema sauce (I think), on them. The sauce over powered the tacos and the meat was a little tough. I don't think the clams were soaked properly as there was a noticeable amount of sand still in them upon consumption. When we politely told the waiter, he was dismissive. He did tell the chef and we were given a $8 discount, but I think it could have been handled better. Overall, I'd say check out other options in the area as there are several others to choose from.
We ordered through door dash- this place is really good. We got the lobster nachos which is HUGE enough for 2-3 people as a meal. The claim chowder was good and also the bacon burger. That were really good with attention to detail as I put in the comments asking for ranch and ketchup which they accommodated. Would def eat here again
Before the aquarium went into Cannery Row there were a couple of good restaurants and it wasn't so crowded. We visited the aquarium on a sunny weekend in April and Cannery Row was busy and we hadn't considered making reservations. Lalla's didn't have a long waiting time and had a nice view of the bay. It was busy but the service was good and all the food was great.
The special drink that was amazing. Ballet-rina! The appetizers were great and so was the view. The risotto was awesome. Sadly, most of the seafood could have been cooked better but the flavors were definitely there.
We enjoyed cocktails and a delicious dinner at Lalla. The crab cakes were fabulous - actually made mostly of crab! The service was attentive and we scored a table right by the window. My salmon was a bit over cooked but my husband’s halibut was perfect. Would definitely come here again.
Beat and pear salad!
We had just walked by this place several times the previous days. Thinking it was just a small bar. Then after being sorely disappointed at another restaurant we stopped to investigate. Yes it was a weeknight but Easter week. Walked in about 6 and seated right away, with floor to ceiling windows there are really no bad seats. Had a great ocean view seated at a back horse shoe booth facing the windows. Service was prompted but not rushed. The meals were excellent and prices appropriate and I think very reasonable.
Food is fine, great views…especially on the window. Typical American restaurant, nothing fancy but worth it for a burger or salad and to take in the view
