Roasted broccoli was yummy, bomb beets was good-a little overkill on the cheese (personal preference) but solid portions for appetizers. We also ordered a thin crust chicken and pesto pizza that was tasty other than we were disappointed in the crust. Just no flavor and seemed to lean more toward tasting like a cracker crust. Server, restaurant and atmosphere was awesome. We would go back and try the deep dish!
The service was great and the restaurant had a nice neighborhoody vibes. The pizza was great, and the large deep dish left three very hungry people with extras
Food was amazing and all that we hoped. Atmosphere was great and good service. Have to try the deep dish which they are known for you won’t be disappointed. Can even get it half/half to try multiple styles at once. The price is worth it. A must for pizza fans visiting Monterey!
I placed my usual online order for a gluten free pizza with no mozarella cheese, and goat's cheese in its place (I can tolerate goat's milk but cow dairy makes me very ill.) When I picked it up, i was surprised to see that my pizza had mozarella cheese on it. When ordering, I remember distinctly checking no mozzarella cheese on the online form. I have ordered the same type of pizza around 10 times in the past, each time with no issue.I explained my situation to the manager and she refused to offer me any solution other than paying 50% for a "remake" fee. I did not "forget" to check it as I have an allergy to cows milk and cows milk products. I didn't see the justice in adding to my already expensive fee (35.00 for a small gluten free pizza), especially because i was careful to check the box and did not feel that this was my fault. Instead of understanding I felt that the manager was dismissive and unreasonable. I would have settled for a remake and would have had to come back to get it. instead I received no such offer except to pay more for a mistake that their system made.I will not order from here again in the future. I was deeply disappointed with their lack of customer service, especially as someone who suffers from food allergies. I felt unsupported and disregarded as a customer who pays high charges for allergy friendly pizzas without complaint. Instead I will be recommending pizza my heart as I have never had any issues with them and have ordered from them too many times to count.
While visiting Monterey, we decided we wanted pizza for dinner and found Heirloom. It's a small restaurant that can get very busy so we made sure to get there right when they opened at 5pm on a Friday night and I'm glad we did because by the time we left shortly after 6, it was getting very crowded. And I can see why...the pizza is delicious! We ordered the chicken wings and roasted broccoli to start and we enjoyed both. For dinner, we got the deep dish arugalalala and the thin crust jimmy pancetta and both were so good! The small pizzas were way more than enough for myself, my husband and our teenage son. We even had leftovers. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. If you're in the area, definitely check this place out!
Great pizza. Wife and I split the Jimmy Pancetta and a side of roasted broccoli. Really tasty. Daughter had a regular cheese pie. Both were thin crust and really good.
While vacationing in Monterery we got an urge for pizza and wanted to find a local non-chain restaurant. We are very happy we landed at Heirloom. It's a tiny space but enough seating for maybe a dozen groups indoors and an equal number on the patio. There's a small bar area that seemed pleasant to hang out at. Good beers on tap. Service was friendly and attentive. We tried the organic sodas and they were tasty. Had wings for an app that were perfectly cooked and had a really tasty spicy dry rub seasoning. We ordered one deep dish and one thin crust. Both were really delicious. For the deep dish, we had just pepperoni/sausage which had a perfect crisp yet flaky crust and fresh tomatoes. The pesto potato thin crust was really amazing. whole roasted cloves of garlic, dollops of ricotta, pesto sauce and sliced potato. Very unique and delish. Only real negative was the cost. A little crazy. But, in the end it was worth it. Oh, and super tiny water glasses were cute but silly when it's empty with just a couple swallows. Definitely recommend this unique spot.
It was OK not the best. plus the time I was told the food would be done ( 35 minutes) was not the time the food was done 1 hour 10 mins later. The cheese bread was not cheesy it was hard. The wings were small not that spicy. The deep dish had to much sauce. I guess if you want to spend money ? then it's the place for you. If you want good pizza this is not the place.
This place was right around corner from our hotel and thankful a quick Google search prompted us to walk over. We are outdoors and along with our puppy and the staff quickly offered and brought a fresh bowl of water out for our pup. We shared broccoli and a large thin crust and it was almost the perfect amount of food for the 4 of us. We split the large thin crust and half was jimmy pancetta (get it!!!) and the other half was bacon and pineapple. My husband drank a beer from a Santa Cruz brewery and they brought out a frozen glass for him to pour it in. The service we had was amazing and when my younger daughter asked for some basil our server smiled and quickly brought her out a little so my daughter could make her own creation. That is the kind of memory that will stick with my daughter and made our evening memoriable!
Solid deep dish pizza, I had the heirloom deep dish and I could taste each distinct ingredient and found them to be high quality. The garlic bread/pizza with dip is also a great option for kids or as an appetizer. Service was attentive and told us there would be a bit of wait for the deep dish but it actually went pretty fast. Will be back!
