We went with the chef’s special today: Szechuan style green beans. It’s probably one of the best green beans that I have tried even over the bay area. The beans are quite tender with a slight taste of spicy. Beans are often overcooked, but this one is not.The KungPao chicken is more like Teriyaki chicken because they used sliced chicken instead of chicken chunks.

Easily the best sit down Chinese restaurant that we've been to in a while! They also don't use any MSG in their food, which is great.Mongolian Beef, Szechuan Beef, Mango Chicken, General Chicken, and String Beans were all fantastic. The meat was tender and well seasoned, the vegetables were fresh, and everything was flavorful and well prepared.Worked have given 5 stars, but deducting ok one star for the service. The gentleman with the nose ring should not be a server in the food service business. He is extremely brief, impatient, and rude. He is mentioned in several other reviews, and they are accurate. The rest of the servers were great. Make sure that he does not serve your table.
We stayed in the hotel opposite - it’s on a busy junction rather than the trendy streets - don’t let that out you off. Seriously, better than the Good Earth - but half the price! Great food, modestly priced - & the first restaurant I’ve been to in Cali that serves Californian Rose! Would definitely return :)
First time today and didn't disappoint, costumer service was above and beyond, really friendly and food really delicious. Definitely a going back place
If I could give 0 stars I would. We are tourists exploring Monterey, so we got hungry and we mistakenly decided to go have dinner at this place. I didn’t read the reviews because we didn’t have time we were beyond hungry. We arrive and get sat down and we are having to deal with the worst, impatient, uncomfortable, difficult server I didn’t get his name but he was Asian with a nose piercing, perhaps he is with one of the owners or maybe just works there though honestly save your time and money folks and look for a decent restaurant that would treat you like a human being with a little dignity and respect.
Service and food was excellent. Had Mongolian Beef with hot & sour soup.
New favorite Chinese restaurant in Monterey!! Superb selection of vegetarian food where tofu is actually cooked well and has flavor. 10/10 chef's kiss!
If there is 0 star, I will give to it. I don’t normally write reviews but there is a Asian man who maybe the owner or manger that is so rude. We have a 3 year old coming in for dinner before 6pm. I told the waitress that my son is hungry and needs the food early. The waitress was kind and gives him a egg soup but my son don’t want any of it. We did not get our food till 7pm. My son is so upset and begin crying after waiting for so long. So my husband took my son out and I went front to check what’s the situation since there are so many people come after us for take out that was able to get there food. I just said “we’ve been waiting for an hour”. The most rudest man starts yell at me “ I know. We just have so many orders today. “ no apologies. No makeup. We pay to enjoy dinner but now get such bad treated. Our waitress was a kind person, she tried everything she could to clam me down but the guy just had no apologies at all. Such person shall not run a food service business since he doesn’t know how to service people.
Great food. So many options! The Mongolian beef and Chinese chicken salad were some of my faves! Friendly and attentive service. Clean restaurant.
