What a disappointment. We’ve been coming to this shop on vacation for 15 years. We always enjoyed the 3 scoop signature sundaes, but we can’t anymore. Glass sundae dishes and real spoons have been replaced by plastic cups and plastic spoons. Three scoop sundaes are now generic single scoop, miniature facsimiles of once Great super sundaes. And it’s similarly priced! Still great chocolate and ice cream, but the thrill is gone. What happened to Ghirardelli? Covid? Whatever! Bring back the old menu and magic!
The young ladies who were working at the restaurant at the time were very professional, Efficient yet friendly. I heard them in a conversation with other customers and they were always very respectful to everybody. I didn't take a picture of my ice cream because I was busy eating it. And yes I paid for parking just to stop for ice cream but it was well worth it.
Delicious selection of candies for gifts. There are also ice cream sundaes and smoothies that can be ordered. Enjoy the seating behind the store with views of the beach and bay.
My family used to love going here on every visit to the Monterey/Carmel area. Sadly, this relationship is likely coming to an end. What changed? Yesterday's visit, we witnessed they stopped giving out free samplers, which we used to enjoy. I can understand that, but when I order $40 worth of items and ask for one dark chocolate sample for myself (as I was having nothing else) the manager overheard me asking the cashier and curtly informed me that I could buy one. Not a big deal. I soon forgot about it. The place was not super busy, but nonetheless about 8 minutes later, my wife's shake came out and was milky and lacked some of the other ingredients as well. When I politely asked the two at the order fulfillment area to remake it, they listened to my description of what is wrong and said they would make a new one. About 15 minutes went by so I returned and I asked them where the order was and they thanked me for reminding them (they forgot). When they remade it they used ice (I was breaking up small ice pieces with my teeth) to thicken it instead of more ice cream and other ingredients. It was undrinkably bad, even to my two teenagers. Sadly, by this time we had walked out and were out of time to deal with it. Suffice to say, this experience tarnished what was a very positive image of the brand & location. Why not one star? The sundae my son had was up to the original standards of taste.
The ice cream is delicious though pricey. I wish the tables were cleared from trash and wiped clean in between guests.
Not sure if this is just some kind of fancy, expensive icecream thing, but on its side with no icecream in the cone is not how you serve an icecream cone.
The icecream was delicious. It was not very expensive either. They had indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. They also had shakes and coffee.
I love the Iced cream from this place, it’s delicious. The service is excellent, very professional and organized, there is Outside sitting with ocean view, everything looks clean.I only been like 3 times to this location and is always busy, that’s a good signThank you girls for working so hard
Chocolate store with an ice cream shop, need you say more. One of the treats stops for kids whenever we visit the aquarium as you can't get these items at home. The hot fudge sunday is wo scoops of ice cream and the right size for 2 kids to share.
Always a favorite location for the family. They have great Ice Cream and great Hot Chocolates. Indoor and Outdoor seating is available.
