I had made reservations here for a small, Tuesday night, post-wedding dinner months ahead of time. The manager was willing to accommodate our seating preferences, but would not let us preorder our choices to save time which was slightly disappointing. My time worries were unwarranted because when we arrived at 9 pm the place was mostly empty. Cibo is a very nicely decorated place that feels warm and welcoming when you come in. That night there was a nice two-piece light jazz band playing that made the ambience even better. We were seated in the back next to the kitchen. Our party received the best service I think I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Maybe being a slow night helped, but our waiter was a man named Milan (I believe. Sorry if that's wrong.) and he was absolutely fantastic. So friendly, so quick, and so personable. He helped make the dinner memorable. Our food was absolutely delicious. The sausages, the pasta, the gnocchi, all of it was remarkable! Even the kids pizza was delicious! And after we had our dinner and left I received a call from our waiter telling us we had left a vest there. He
Had high expectations but was highly disappointed. Food was bland and salty, service was slow and Devore needed to be updated. Very dark.
Most dishes are pretty mediocre but the Grilled Jumbo Prawns were delicious.
One of the best places to chill for a night of drinks and good music in Monterey. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays they have a live DJ and are open until 130am. The crowd was mature and the vibe was great. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The bartenders are super attentive and the drinks are made well. Highly recommended for that downtown Monterey nightlife experience.
Stumbled across this place on a Sunday evening. Very fortuitous as it was excellent. Decor and ambiance were both great, live music was a treat, and the service was really attentive, professional, yet very friendly.Food and drinks were equally good. Would heartily recommend this place.
Such a beautiful restaurant with great food and ambience. I am so happy we went here on our visit to Monetary. Delicious
The restaurant hasn’t got the best decor but the food is tasty and plentiful and the service is really good. If you’re having calamari as a starter you need to know that it’s enormous and very good. We wished we had got it as a sharing starter.
I was looking forward to having a pizza at this Italian restaurant. ‘No pizzas’ we were told but only when ordering our meals. We should have been told on arrival. I ended up having the ribbon pasta with sausage. What a bland meal. It was inoffensive but completely uninspiring. Service was efficient but a bit like the food, lacked quality and personality. Sorry but this place is not somewhere I’d want to come back to.
Happy hour menu is awesomeDrink specials, live music
We stopped in for a drink and bite to eat at the bar. The first bartender was great, then a shift change. Two bartenders and even though there were only a few people in the bar, neither bothered to acknowledge we were there. We had planned to order off the menu, but after waiting 20+ minutes after shift change, we just paid the bill and left. Of course, we could have flagged them down, but we just watched. I imagine there are far better places to enjoy a drink & eat, after a rich, full day in gorgeous Monterey. This was just a bust for us.
