I went there often because of the prices and location. The owner waits the tables. I've tipped her although I read you don't tip the owner. Prices have gone up steadily and they now are over priced. What was $13.95 is now $18.95 - you can get better at a restaurant with better ambiance. I was surprised to see another price increase, but ordered it anyway. I got the bill of $24.95! Told the owner she must have billed me for another table. No, she said, no mistake. I showed her she had $2.95 tax when it should have been a dollar or so less. And she even added the overcharged sales tax to the meal and came up with something about $3 too much! She was angry and agitated when I showed her. I think the restaurant is failing and customers are leaving. Prices are too high and there is a fast, good value Chinese restaurant newly opened nearby. She has been trying to survive by raising prices. I believe she was deliberately overcharging because I habitually hand over my credit card without looking at the bill. Frankly, I would urge people to try China Garden, Full Moon - both nearby and better, non-oily food, or the Panda Express if you want quality at a good price. After this bad experience, I won't be going back until there is new ownership. Ah yes, the soup was cold and the hot oil sauce on the table often smells rancid. You can do better for yourself.
Service was abrupt and cold. Had to flag waitress down several times to get chopsticks, tea, sauces to go with meal, check, etc. I thought the food was pretty bad...the only thing I could eat was the sizzling rice soup. But my husband was very pleased with the chow mein and lemon chicken. Probably won't go back.
Hella bomb the best in Monterey so fresh and so delicious never going to Panda Express ever again that’s for sure this place is a must try if u like Chinese food the no.1 dinner for 2 is perfect with some hot tea just add sugar and your good
Excellent classic Chinese cuisine. One of our favorite go to spots in Monterey.
Good service, fresh and flavored..try the eggplant with garlic sauce.
Total rip off. frozen chicken in the chow mein and you have to dog fight to get more than one soy sauce to go..The sweet and sour pork has no vegetables.Ive been coming here for 40 years with great food and prices. Now its just a scam..Lousy food..
Friendly staff. Great service. Yummy food. Perfect location. What else could you ask for?
I always get #19 Pork. Fried rice and Chow Mein. Delicious.
The food was tasty. I just feel like it's a bit overpriced. Nice to take to the beach tho!
Great food and big portions! Hot and fresh made. Try the Kung POW; Orange Chicken; and Veg Fried Rice. We got it to go home and it was still hot and fed us for two days!
