Restaurant was extremely slow and overwhelmed so we were seated 40 minutes later than our reservation. Food took a really long time after that too. We also chose the restaurant because OpenTable said it was â$30 and underâ, which is definitely not true. That said, the food was excellent and the service was generally nice.

The view and ambiance are lovely. Views of Monterey Bay are always amazing. However, the food was awful. No flavor. Fish was VERY over cooked, steak tasted charred. Havenât found a restaurant with beautiful views in Monterey that actually does have decent food. Very high price to pay for terrible food but a great view

The food was great, you can't beat the view but the service was disappointing. We spent over $200 for an anniversary dinner and felt cheated.
We loved the view of the bay, but didnât love that our steak was over cooked (so was the personâs sitting next to us), especially for the price (medium rare should not be well done). When we arrived the hostess told us they were waiting for our server and I overheard a manager speak rudely to one of the hostesses - and later observed the same hostess crying while coworkers cheered her up. I hope sheâs ok, and as a manager, I felt like there could have been a better way for the staff to talk to each other. The best part was the view and our server, Marc! And the sea otters who kept us entertained.
We went there while visiting Monterey and enjoyed a great meal. Weâve been to several Chart Houses and this is one of our favorites. Our server, Raul, was very attentive & brought us a treat to celebrate my birthday.

Celebrating 23rd anniversary and requested a window seat away from the kitchen if possible. We were seated at a window seat with a great view of the hotel next door, no ocean view for us and it was the closest window seat to the kitchen. We noticed others that had no reservation received window seats with a beautiful ocean view. Maybe they donât read the requests on Open door? The salad bar and cocktails were good but the entrees not so much. Our fish was dry and the sauces didnât seem to match the food we ate. Sweet and spicy halibut was not so spicy but drenched in a strange caramel sauce that made the plate overwhelmingly sweet. Our waitress was attentive but not sure how to handle our dislike of the entrees. Would not recommend. Will not be back. Was hoping for a romantic dinner and left disappointedâ¦
